hello. I've been away in Edinburgh for a couple of days. It was good. Can't remember the distinct reasons anymore though... then I realised I prepared for this eventuality by writing everything down on a pad, hazzah! So, here reproduced for all (with all the grammar mistakes included) are my thoughts on a work course in a foreign-ish country. With translation too handily....

-Granite Stone structure beats an unhistoric perma-concrete visage [Hiya. You've been warned. This comparison of Croydon and Edinburgh is clear evidence I was feeling a tad pretentious last week]
-Wogan transcends geographic borders with a monopoly on breakfast radio waves
-People smile. Random people actually smile. Taxi drivers the same though.
-The world is actually 2ft by 2 ft. So in that case there are several worlds in my hotel room. [Me again. This comment comes from the fact that the random bloke giving the course in Edinburgh actually now lives a five minute walk from where I grew up. Oh, and my hotel room was lovely too, thank you work :)]
-Work here would be a tad limiting... like a plush, well maintained, open-plan straight jacket
Edin by nightime is delicious[Now I'm either trying to be clever and comparing lovely Edinburgh with an Eden-esque paradise.. or being lazy. Know which one my money's on]
-Say hello to castle again, mound seems just as tall despite larger legs
-Sitting in a bar, eating pistachios, sipping Talisker, reading beatnik poetry, halleluhah comes on the music. Bliss? And even if I forget this moment, it will last with the page creases made on a lightweight paperback (with nut shells cemented in its inner case...)
[and then comes a half done sketch of a brick wall - I don't really know why]
