Discovery Health - a company I would seriously not recommend if you ever have to deal with South Africa in any way are doing their best to piss me off too much to write coherently. Now, ten years back, medical aid (medical insurance) was an agreeable luxury in SA. Private care was better than state care, but state hospitals were still, largely, ( Read more... )

two hurdles. 1)waiting on visa 2)waiting on house sale. really scared 2 will happen and 1 won't. People coming back tomorrow.

South African business operates behind exchange control walls :-/. And the thought of corruption never crossed my lips... here? coudn't happen, never. (sacasm mode? me? really?)

John Campbell (editor, Analog) said it best, "Power without responsibility corrupts." Private medical insurance in South Africa is not held accountable for what they do, and they need to be. When the war comes -and it will- they will be among the first to die.

(nod) I think - in an economic sense - it's coming right now. It just hasn't quite got through yet. We have a combination of whammy factors which are quite scary
