Last weekend was the Whitby Goth Weekend so
keris,
blooddoll3 and myself fortified ourselves with bacon sandwiches, and rolled into a car, and set off up the Motorway. Grabbing lots of keys (I was on a secret mission of key-grabbing for other minions of
g_dog who were not able to make it up until very late on) we headed to the pub where we quickly got rid of the excess ticketage we had, and then pretty much stayed there until we found
venta and I had to run off to find
kneeshooter Friday morning I had a photoshoot arranged with
fracture242 which was unfortunately rather short, as the weather was a tad inclement, and the lighting rather gray. Having been scuppered there, we went to the pub, before I had to go find
keris, so had to go to another pub.
The weened was pretty much either pub, gig, or cake. There was a lot of cake. So much that
keris poured scorn on my cake buying skills. Pah! All one needs are friends with cake eating skills to match!
Musically I was not massively inspired by the bands. I enjoyed
Trauma Pet, but I have to admit that I like their older stuff a bit more. Having more members than just Ellie and Tara on stage helped.
I didn't get on with the band with the silly name (Katzenjammer Kabarett.) They aimed for the vicinity of the Dresden Dolls, but missing, and landed squarely in shitesville.
XPQ21 did manage to get me dancing more than any of the other bands of the weekend, and also had a lead singer who did a good line in daft facial experssions (There are some who say that isn't a good reason to enjoy a band. What do they know, huh?)
Was the first time in a while that I've done the Spa without the camera along. It made a nice change, maybe I'll do it again.
Sunday evening is the night where most people go to either of the club nights, and queue for ages to get in. We did it slightly differently. We just went for the queue, and distributed sweets to people. Then we didn't go in. As we left, we were discussing where to eat.
venta mentioned somewhere that we might have to wait a bit to get served in. Given we'd just spent an hour in a queue for something we weren't going to, I thought this was an odd observation.
It was fun, I'll do it again in 6 months I imagine.
