I woke up early this morning and hopped on the home elliptical for about ten minutes to get the blood pumping. I've been meaning to work some cardio in on my days that I'm not weight training. I thought about doing 20, but the muscles in my lower back starting to protest around the 8-minute mark, so it occurred to me that maybe they weren't healed up from last night's workout and I should probably work myself into the cardio workouts gradually, just like anything else. Still, it was a good brisk 10 minute 'run' and I've been feeling pretty good all day today.
It's amazing how much more pep I have. I don't know whether it's from working out or getting good sleep or change in the weather, but there's something about today that has me brimming with energy. I'd almost forgotten how good it felt to have a really 'up' day where much can be done.
update: This evening after supper I did another 10 minutes on the elliptical.
