Egad things have been busy! Lousy excuse, I know, and one I've used too many times.
Well to start with, we should be freezing our extremities off right about now, but it's been in the 70s and 80s here lately. I hope it's not a prelude to an intolerably hot summer. I have things to do and I don't want to do them in 110° weather.
I started on our taxes already. Looks good so far. With our returns this year, we will basically rebuild the master bathroom. Shortly after we moved in we realized that the toilet was leaking and when that high quality particle board (snurk!) got wet, it disintegrated. I never liked the idea of wall to wall carpet in a bathroom and this is why. With tile you can spot the leaks before they do damage. So we're just going to rip up the whole floor, replace it with good plywood and tile it. Eventually we'll do the same with the kid's bathroom.
We're also going to put in a front porch/deck. I have an idea of what I want to do, but I have to take some measurements and get a plan together.
Wow! I didn't realize it had been so long since I wrote in here! A few random notes on the last month or so:
- January 12, 2006 made fifteen years that Ann and I have been married. We didn't do a whole lot for it. We went to Kerville and stayed overnight at a pretty nice hotel. We had intended to spend the day in Kerville, but the in-laws called saying Tyler was sick, so we had to cut it short and go take care of him.
- New Year's was uneventful. We couldn't do fireworks because it's been so dry here, so we did what we always do, went to bed!
- Christmas was okay but money was really tight this year and I was sick. So it came and went without much hype.
- Work is about normal. Busy busy... As an operator I always thought our engineers were certifiably nuts, but now I know the truth. Not only are they certifiably nuts, they can be real ass holes too. Yes, stories abound on this subject, but lunch is over and I have to get back to work.
Hope all is well with everyone.
