A delicate shade of blood.

Until I washed them, I was unsure which of the stains on my arms were blood and which were blackberry juice. Turns out they were a mixture of both.

I now have ~8.5L of berries steeping into 4.5L of boiling water with a couple of campden tablets thrown in for good measure. I'll give them a week in there before I pitch in the yeast and sugar, then a week to ferment before I move to glass to continue fermenting.

I'm thinking I might then add some apples to the berry pulp, some raisins and a couple of lemons and some more water to see if I can get an apple and blackberry wine too.
