I also have a love of books. For me, Ive made it into a game..a hunt...to see where I can find them for free. Sometimes I have to wait. But its very rare in todays world for a book to ever truely be unavailable. There is always ebay..etc. I understand being a collector. But part of collecting for me, is the means of getting it for free/cheap. The two Stargate titles you are missing, Im sure they are out there somewhere. It just means you can't go to amazon and pay full price to have them shipped to your house. There *are* copies out there.

First thing you should do is join BookMooch.com. Its basically a book trading site. You mail books to people ($2-$4 each for postage) and get points. You then *spend* these points on other books. Its hit or miss what books you will find, but I have found a LOT of great books. Another one is paperbackswap.com.

Second thing is to look into local venues. Maybe google? We have something called Liberated Books where its just a free book swap every month. Someone set up their garage like a library, you donate any books you are done with and take as many as you like. Its wonderful.

Thirdly, libraries have book sales often. They sell their excess and donated books to get money to buy new books. I love love love these. Typically on the last day they might have a "Bag Sale" where a bag of books is $5. This website may help you find library sales in your area.

Lastly, if you haven't already done so, you should join freecycle. I get a lot of books from them. Some Im interestd in, others I freecycle back to other people. Its a great program. freecycle.org will help you find a group in your area. You can join as many groups in your area as you like.
