Friday Night at the squadron went fairly well. Plenty of cadets again, although numbers had dropped to about 24 from the 30 we had on wedsnesday, but again this is still better than we had over the summer. Being the only qualified Drill Instructor on the sqn, it fell to me to give the new cadets an introduction to drill. We did some really basic stuff like static turns, and a quick intro to marching. You could see the difference between those that were really keen and so paying attention and putting effort into it, and those who weren't.
Was fairly annoyed because it turns out that Wing have forgotten to organise transport for our cadets to go to sports down in South Wales, so now I have to drive them there tommorrow. This is going to involve getting up at 6.30am tommorrow morning (sunday). What is also annoying is that I could really have done with going Fencing training tommorrow morning. We have our first match in just over 2 weeks (against Exeter University) and as Captain I really should be leading by example and turning up to all the training sessions. Its just I have other things going on aswell! Coupled with the fact that im away all next weekend aswell (taking the cadets shooting!)and that Rhys had screwed up the times for the training session today (he told everyone the wrong time meaning we missed it!) means im not going to be getting much training in over the next few week or so.
