It's Showtime!!

This morning I had high hopes that Apple would release their rumored Touch Screen iPod at their press conference later today.  A camera phone photo had Apple lovers eager with anticipation:

The tiny item below "the stars" looks very similar to previously leaked photos of a future touchscreen player.

Alas...the above was false.  However, the press conference was focused around their iPod line...and the news wasn't all that bad.

iPods can now play Movies, which you can download from iTunes (unfortunately, just like TV shows, only if live in the USA).  Also, only movies from Disney and studios owned by Disney (such as Miramax) are available.

The iPod shuffle is now ever smaller.  I'll admit...I didn't really like the look of the old shuffle, but this one looks amazing.  It really can be put anywhere.  It's only 1.62inches long.

When they released the iPod Nano last year, they adopted the same type of outer skin as the iPod, unfortunately at its small size it encounted a tremendous amount of major scratches (I bought a case for mine to stay in the whole time just so this wouldn't happen).  I read on the internet that people had wished Apple kept the same skin as it's predecesor: The iPod Mini.  Well...wishes are granted:

The ad for the new Nano is really cool too: http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/ads/  (you need to have Quicktime)

Finally...
With the release of Movie, Apple released an updated version of iTunes.  It not only has a brand new interface, but it also has a whole bunch of new features, some of which I had wished could be done in previous releases:
-seperate lists for Music, Podcasts and Videos
-the ability to download Cover Art from the iTunes Music Store if you download music from another source (Limewire), or rip a recently purchased CD.  This feature is awesome!  One of the reasons I love iTunes is because of the Cover Art for all my songs.

So...thats my Apple recap.  Ya ya, I know you could have read all that on the internet...but god dammit...this is my Journal/Blog and I can put what I want on it.
...and YES!  I am a total geek.  I just can't wait for the new MacBook Pros so I can buy one by Christmas or early in the new year.

Oh...and if anyone wanted to have a closer look at all the stuff released today...just go to www.apple.com ...add /ca for the Canadian Site.
