Honeymoon

“Why do I get the feeling you’ve been here before?” And that’s Lois. So sure of herself and her place she thinks she has the right to judge.

Cat can hear the scorn in the other woman’s voice.

She pretends it’s jealousy.

“This old place?” And she giggles, flipping back the tablecloth. “Kind of a home away from home.”

She doesn’t miss the expression on their faces, the shared look and the raised eyebrow.

She tells herself it’s surprise.

Yes, she has been in the honeymoon suite, but never as a bride. And she tells herself she’s okay with that.

Awww . . . I can really feel for Cat there. I've often wondered what was behind her acting that way--has to be a world of pain, covered up and scarred over. The few stories on the Archive delving into her life and real feelings have always had a warm place in my heart. Always did like those lesser characters with the unexplored backgrounds . . . makes me think who are they? What makes them tick, what happened in their lives that made them who they are today?

Anyway, thank you very much--I really like it. :)) You ought to write a whole fic about her. *g*
