Cos, no, I've nothing better to do at night...

Ideas. Where the hell do they come from? Can you make those little fuckers show up?

To get an idea I have to head towards the third star on the right and keep going until morning...

Generally, I can usually make the little bastards show themselves, especially if I'm in the mood for writing. I was one of those weird kids who lay on their back, watched birds in the sky and made stories up.

I get a lot from prompts and requests, and I'm a big what-if guy... my only problem is following through on the ideas.

Wild horse-bunnies. When a story just gets pulled right out of you. Do you get them?

Not really, no. I've had ideas spring up that make me jot a paragraph down, but nothing that's pulled a whole story from me.

...and I feel kind of cheated now. :P

Writer's block. Have you been scourged?

Many a time.

Clean up duty. Do you like editing?

I edit as I write. I'm a little bit OCD in my writing, in that one part has to be polised before I can move on to the next paragraph. It makes my writing more economical, I think. I tend to ask myself whether I really need that sentence or if that word fits or if I can hear the character saying that - I don't worry so much with cracky stories, but it's one of the reasons my stories are so short - it takes me ages to write. *g*

The ending. Is it hard for you to find the ending?

Oh, yes, but then, I'm hugely in support of open endings or endings that leave the reader thinking. Especially fun in drabbles or ficlets, that. I tend to write endings that, as a reader, would leave me unsatisfied. Because I'm a bit of a bastard and I'd rather leave things open to interpretation.

The title. Where do you get yours? Do you have yours when you start the story?

Ha! More often then not, I'm still thinking of a title as I'm typing up all the code and ready to post. There's been the odd occassion where I've had a title before I started a story, but it's very, very rare and I'm usually begging my poor BR for title suggestions.

Plot. If you plot out your stories first, raise your hand.

I should probably start, but no... I don't tend to.

POV. How do you choose your POV for a scene? For a story?

I try to keep my perspective original, but I'm afraid I'm really predictable when it comes to POV - about 90% of my stories are from the male POV. It's just easier, you know, to write from a male POV. Generally, it's from the Doctor's pov - I think he has a rather unique perspective on things, and I have fun trying to imagine the story from his side of things - what you think is important isn't, and what you think isn't might be. (Plus, it's especially easy if it's Ten, since I have a tendency to ramble just as much as he does. ;))

I do go through a bit of a process in deciding, though - usually it comes down to whether I want something to seem alien... or, if it's crack, it's who I could get the best gag from. ;)

One thing I've noticed more in my writing of late is that I don't tend to change POV during a story. I used to, in the Time Before Who, but I tend to think it's more true to the experience if you're seeing things soley from one character's perspective - and it's always fun trying to show the other character's thoughts and reactions within the confines of your character's perspective. I don't know if I suceed, but it's fun to try nonetheless. *g*

Challenges. Do you like them? Do they inspire you?

I love them. Challenges and prompts and first sentence stories and... yeah, they inspire me, as long as they're open-ended enough for me to twist them around. I rather hate challenges and prompts that are pretty specific in the direction they want you to take. Oddly enough, though, ficathon prompts usually leave me with nothing. :/

Sex. Do you like writing sex?

Oh, hell no. I hate sex... well, writing sex. Uh... Shuddap.
