so i have like, 3400 words now but the story never seems to wrap itself up. it just keeps going and going and going. also the dialogue is really bad. but alas. life is not perfect. and i am never going to be an english major. i reread my unfinished short story with the full intention of finishing it. it is really bad.
therefore, ficlet.
Title: Two, Caught, Middle
Fandom: Kaleido Star
Rating: G
Pairing: Mia/Anna
Summary: Mia looks like she's deciding between being a child and being an adult, but when she lets down her pigtails Anna just breathes it all in.
Mia is from Holland. She has pale straw hair with orange-ish coloring, looking as if it was undecided between platinum blonde and blazing red and then found a happy medium. She wears pigtails, an adult with pigtails, but Mia is young and pretty and pigtails make her seem more like a child, and she is somewhere in between.
Anna does not know much else about Mia besides her charming grandmother, even though Mia knows almost everything about Anna, including an incident in kindergarten where Anna was supposed to make the audience laugh in the school play but made them gasp in wonder instead and how she had cried backstage after. ("Aww," she'd said, "even at five you were a dreamy romantic") She supposes that's okay, because Anna has always been an open book, and Mia has always been caught in the middle - making a choice about two scripts, deciding between two people.
Anna couldn't really have faulted Sora if Mia had chased after her instead, because everyone noticed the exciting rubber bubble that was Sora, (even Layla, and that was damn lucky for that otherwise unreachable woman) but it still would've stung.
In the morning Anna wakes up and Mia's hair is fighting Anna's face, and Mia is not stranded in the middle somewhere. The sun is not deciding whether to rise or not, Mia is not worrying whether to slash a scene or not, her pigtails are just not there.
wtf that was really bad.
