Day Fourteen - Dinner
Who: Simon, prodding Kaylee

Where: her room, eventually the Italian restaurant

Summary: Simon picks up Kaylee for dinner and Jaime is there helping her get ready, complete with plan to follow after them with Mal later. The four go to dinner separately but at the same place, and Simon is generally awkward and prudish while Mal is a bit naughtier than usual, turning the tables on Jaime in the teasing war.
Both couples end up in bed together ... but not together, if you take my meaning. Simon is pleasantly surprised with himself.
It would have been better, he thought, if he’d done this before formally. There’d always been parties and dinners and such where he was required to speak or attend with someone or other, but it was hardly his place to ask anyone to these things; everything was predetermined for him. He supposed he knew the steps, maybe, but he was constantly fouling things up with Kaylee and he wanted to not do that this go round. If that were even possible, which he was beginning to doubt.
Straightening himself out, he knocked on Kaylee’s door. They’d never really determined a time, but he figured it was close enough to dinner time to be safe.
