Who: Hammer, Barney, River
When: Later afternoon
Where: The Lounge
Rating: PG at least
Status: Closed, completed
Summary: Captain Hammer ventures into the lounge to see what's what, where he's joined by a River who believes him to be Mal. He doesn't understand River, not really, but since she is cute, he makes a passing attempt to hit on her - until Barney roams in. Believing Barney to be Dr. Horrible, the two of them have a very incoherent conversation that is strangely one-sided for each of them - though they seem to believe they're understanding each other. River leaves at some point, and Jaime is mentioned - though Hammer points out that he's not with Jaime, he's with Penny. Understandably (sort of) this annoys Barney, who spent Chaos in Mal's body denied sex because of Jaime. Hammer believes him to be annoyed for another reason, and considers himself a victor in their (completely fictional) verbal spar.
He'd been busy. Very busy. He hadn't been hiding from the war, and the Chaos. No, no, nothing like that. He'd been ... scouting. For heads to bash and lives to save. That was it.
Hiding. Pfft. As if.
Sauntering into the lounge, hands on hips, Hammer surveyed the furniture before he nodded. Granted, the last time he'd been here ... things had been less than pleasant, suffering from a hangover as he'd been.
But he was sober now. Sober, and maybe a little bored.
