Day Fourteen - It's got to be the morning after

Summary: When they wake up together after Chaos breaks, there is the inevitable awkwardness that Kaylee knew there would be from Simon. However, it doesn't venture in quite the direction she thought it would - Simon is apologetic and abashed at his ungentlemanly behavior.
The situation is saved, more or less, when Simon, at Kaylee's inquiry, admits he wouldn't mind pursuing a relationship with her - though there is still fumbling awkwardness between them as he decides he'd rather go slow. Kaylee compromises with an offer of a date - dinner at one of the restaurants - and Simon agrees before heading up to the medlab.
If it hadn't been her room, Kaylee would have given some very serious consideration to sneaking out of bed. Yes, sneaking out of bed. She knew Simon was going to ... well, he would be awkward, and flustered, and whatever progress she'd made toward a real relationship with him would be reset. Maybe even past reset, because she shouldn't have done it, plain and simple.
Sighing quietly to herself, she opened her eyes and glanced over to him to see if he was awake.
If he wasn't, she thought she might sneak off to the shower, so at least he could have a chance to escape if he wanted. But if he was awake ... no hope of that.
