Summary: While wandering around nearish the library and contemplating gift ideas, Spike stumbles across his giftee. Never one to pass up an opportunity, he engaged Luna in conversation about the gift exchange to ask if she has any ideas. He subtly (or not so subtly) inquires what she might like, and he follows her suggestion to the business district, where he picks out a paint set that she likes.
They do converse a bit - from the mundane to the philosophical, asking what they believe in and have passion for - and after he makes his purchase, Spike parts company with her stating he needs to have the gift wrapped.
Spike was still suspicious of the whole not burning in the sun thing. Clearly, it wasn't affecting him, and he'd very briefly considered going shirtless for a bit - but the idea that the sun might all of a sudden decide to turn on him changed his mind.
He was still bored, though it was getting better. There were interesting people here, and Christmas - apparently in the middle of summer. Fascination all around.
Part of him was looking for that little blonde bit he'd run into with Buffy and Willow - 'parently, the random drawing had selected her as the one he was meant to buy a gift for, and he'd like to get to know her a bit better so he could put some thought into it.
See? He was't all bad.
Most of him, however, was simply looking for something to do. How he'd wound up near the library was anyone's guess ... though he'd always had a fondness for books.
