Day One - Edward

Summary: Edward runs into Luna on the beach, where she is working on fleshing out a new map. After a brief discussion regarding the semantics of where they've arrived, and the revelation that Edward is, in fact, the Edward that Bella has been missing, they head toward the township. Luna continues to document the layout on her map, and Edward searches the minds of the locals for Bella, finally locating her in the library. They head in that direction...
This was, most definitely, not Forks.
For starters, Forks didn't have a beach. Or at least, not one like this, where the water stretched out as far as you could see. And Edward could see pretty far.
He stood stock still, glaring out across the ocean, listening. Not to the rustle of the wind in the trees, or the lapping of the ocean at his feet. Rather to the minds and the thoughts of the people that populated the area. He gleaned from them the name of the place, the whys and the wherefores. And then, satisfied, he began to search.
He knew Bella would be here somewhere; he had seen thought of her in the minds of others. It incensed him beyond all reason that he could never hear her mind, but it was no matter. He could hear everyone else, and as soon as someone thought of her in the context of this world, he could be there quick as lightning.
But he didn't hear anything; not yet. So he waited, wondering which of the outsiders here he would happen upon first.
