"Yeah well. I was kind of on a self induced mission before I ended up, where ever the fuck this is. I'm a little stressed, and a little peeved." His tone had come out more..snarky than he intended. But he was a bit agitated at the moment. Anyone who had just come to witness what he did, only to end up in no mans land, would probably be just as..pissed. Or so one would think. They did that often enough, didn't they? People, that is.

He completely bypassed the part about checking in. He didn't care all that much. Besides if it occurred at the same place he was headed, fine. Kill two birds with one stone. If checking in meant he'd get answers, well then by all means, check away. Despite this newcomer, well not new to this place; but new to him, he still hadn't stopped in his pace.

The last question just made him roll his eyes and shake his head. At least the walk wouldn't be nearly as boring as he had originally thought it to be. "Anyone ever tell you that you're kind of aloof?" He meant no real harm in the sense, but it didn't stop a smirk from appearing against his facial structure. Oddly enough this person reminded him of his older brother. At least in the sense of egotism. 'Maybe this won't be so bad after all.' He paused only for a moment to make sure he was still headed in the right direction, upon confirming so, his pace resumed.

Emmett chuckled, keeping pace easily enough. Hell, he likely could have run circles around the guy. Would have too, if the opportunity presented itself.

"I get called a lot of things," he replied, "Pretty sure that's not one of them. I'll add it to the list."

Golden eyes darted about as he trailed along, a cocky half grin on his face.

"Stressed and peeved," he echoed, "We get a lot of that here. Most people settle in pretty quick, I hear."

Well, that's what Ed had said anyways, and he'd know, wouldn't he? Still, Emmett wondered who would be in the Hall when they got there. There'd be Ice, maybe, or Laurel. Either way should be interesting.

He had a vague thought as to introducing himself, but this guy didn't seem in much of a hurry to make friends with the locals, so he stowed it for the time being.

"Would charming, and good-looking be on that list as well?" So much for not opening up just yet. Nor, could he stop the sincere laugh that left his throat. Of course the momentary lapse of ease didn't last long as he went back to his task.

"Yeah well, I've been told I'm not like most people. I was in the process of doing something rather important. I don't exactly have the time to fight other people's battles." Again he didn't mean for the snotty tone to return, he just well had more pressing issues to attend to.

Chances were, he wasn't going anywhere. At least not anytime soon. He just tried to ease his mind in knowing that, Ari could handle herself. She was good with her power, better than he was; but that was a coming with age thing.

A low noise was given as he grew closer to his target, quickening his pace. "So..is there something the natives around here call you..." That could be take numerous ways, either his name, or exactly what he was rather than whom.

Emmett chuckled, the noise a low rumble in his throat, emphasizing the fact that the tone of his voice was just a little too perfect.

"Charming and good looking," he agreed, "That is what they say." He gave a slight smirk, the thought to state what he was instead of who not even crossing his mind. "Most people call me Emmett," he offered, "Although my brother calls me Snoogy-bear when he's feeling daring."

He suppressed another chuckle at that; the very idea of Edward calling anyone something like that was just too amusing. But hey, anytime he could make fun of his rather uptight sibling was a good time.

"So how about you?" he ventured, "Or should I make something up?"

Oryon might have been on a mission, but he wasn't, the vampire having no qualms - and really, he usually didn't - about pestering sna dteasing.

"Snoogy-bear? Wh--No. I really don't need to know how you gained that one." He knew pet names like that were common amongst lovers, but siblings, unless..'NO NO NO DO NOT WANT ORYON DO NOT WANT!!' Mildly disturbed by where his own imagination just took him he nearly gagged at the thought of siblings doing things to each other. After all, that, was technically illegal, wasn't it? "Well if most people call you Emmett, then that's what I'll peg you as as well. No sense in having my sexuality questioned." A firm nod would add to that, just in-case it made the other male begin to ponder.

"Me? Oh I have a name, so there will be no need in making anything up. If you're anything like your brother.. I dread what you could possibly come up with." Ah, there was the sarcasm, it took a while to show up. Perhaps it were jet lagged or something to that nature. Along with the wisecrack came a deep seated grin, causing the piercings in his lip to press flat against the row.

With a snerk he flicked his eyes to his near-twin. "Most people call me Oryon...Y'anno, kind of like the Constellation?" He was rather proud of his name. Though he wasn't exactly a hunter like his namesake, then again the spelling was a bit different. "..People tend to shorten it to Ory, though." At least it was a nickname he wasn't ashamed of.

A low beaming grin forced its way to his lips as he finally reached the building he had been aiming for since he set foot outside the dorms. He assumed the other would follow him in, didn't really phase Oryon much if he did or didn't for that matter. Ory's head tipped as he entered said building, eyes widening a bit as he wasn't expecting what unveiled itself in front of him.

"I'm nothing like my brother," he was quick to supply, though he made no reference to sexuality or anything like that.

After all, wasn't his in a questionable state just then? Granted, back home he was married, but things here had been different, hadn't they? And Rose ... well, she wasn't here. And wasn't going to be, from what he could tell.

He grinned a little as the pair eased into Town Hall, topaz eyes quickly adjusting to the rather more dull light in the building.

"Up the stairs," he said, gesturing his double to the staircase leading to Ice's office.

"Up. Right. Well. I'm sure I'll be seeing me..er well you, around." With that he flicked a half-assed wave to the paler male, and made his way up the stairs.

That was kind of a bad thing though. As he ventured up the stairs he could feel his temper rising. He tried to get it in check before he reached his new destination. This was probably the last person he needed to upset. Though the more that anger manifested, the less he grew to care.

The open door was a dead give-away. That whole 'I don't care' thing was really going to be his downfall. Blatantly storming into the office the mild pent up rage damn near exploded in his down. "You better have one hell of a fucking damn good reason for bringing me here!" Normally he wasn't so vulgar, okay, yes he was, but not when talking to people he's just met. Maybe if he got the right answers he'd actually consider apologizing for his brashness.

Isabelle glanced over, but she'd heard him coming long before he'd approached the office. She stepped out of the doorway to her mother's room. "Company," she said with a teasing lilt to her voice before she flicked her eyes over the Emmett look-alike.

Easing past him, she giggled to herself, or her thoughts, or perhaps simply the situation.

Ice stepped out of her bedroom, smoothing down the sleeve of her tunic. The motion allowed the slight bulge to be seen where the blades were strapped to her wrist, but she neither noticed nor cared if he noticed.

"I didn't bring you here," she replied as she took in his appearance. "You're welcome to return home, but if you've been pulled once, the odds are good you'll get pulled again. Not a guarantee, of course, but we've had one gentleman who has been here twice."

She made a gestured toward a chair, if he was inclined, though she'd understand if he'd prefer to stand.

A not so pleased growl left his vocal cords as he just about slammed himself into the chair. He was a rather unhappy person right now, as he subconsciously fingered the items around his neck. He was loosing precious time to search for his sister and it was..only ticking him off further. "Well then I guess there's really no point in going home. I mean, if I leave, and get pulled back, I'm only going to be ten times more pissed off than I am now!"

He was of course yelling at the wrong person, that tended to happen to him a lot. Often enough it backfired on him too. Hands raked through oddly spike styled blond hair an added a tug of frustration. 'One. Two. Three. Breathe Oryon. Breathe.' A few deep breaths later and he was at least a slight bit calmer. "Sorry.."

Hm. So he apologized a lot sooner than he planned on but it's not like brooding was going get him anywhere. "So, this Emmett persona, mentioned something about checking in. So..what sort of information do you need?" He would have included asking if they needed a piss test, but he had to remember this was not juvie. He also needed to remember that growing short with the wrong person, was a way to get yourself labeled as an asshole. Albeit he retained that gene, he made it a point not to let it shine nearly as much.

Ice waited out the rage. It wasn't an unprecedented reaction, after all. No one liked being pulled from their home to be here. She wondered if they'd be singing the same song if they knew she was in the same boat they were - she'd been pulled as well, quite against her will, to assist in this war.

"It's all right," she said to his apology before addressing the rest of it. "Your name and skills you possess for a start. If you have questions, now's a good time to ask them. Some of them are answered in the paperwork, but there are some concepts that simply don't translate well to paper, and we prefer to discuss those with the person individually if they're inclined to hear the answers."

She studied him for a moment, and thought absently that if Emmett possessed this level of rage, the bubble would probably be completely forestless, and the mountains would have been significantly rearranged. It was an amusing train of thought for her.

"McNamera, Oryon." He was used to answering the name question in that form, thus this would be no different. He really was a nice kid, but given what he was pulled from, his temper was easily more accessible than usual. He would have to re-hone his hold on it later. "As far as skills go. I can control water. Make it boil. Make it freeze. Generate it, make it evaporate. I can make it high tide, low tide, I can split the mother fuckin' Red Sea. Essentially water is my bitch. I can make it do anything I damn well please."

Assuming that this woman held some sort of authority in this town, he probably should have used a more respectable manner of speaking but that would mean having to alter his way of being; and that was just something he didn't do. He didn't often of a high regard for authority to begin with, but he did hold respect for the female gender. That still didn't mean he was going change. He assumed she didn't expect him to either.

"I got the greater part of it in the letter. Exactly what am I to expect? I've learned there are others like me, with similar powers, that is. But..what are we against?" There was something more personal he wanted to ask her, but he'd wait that one out.

She checked his statement against the notes on the paper, and nodded. "Well, I imagine our sea life would appreciate if there was no arbitrary parting of their home environment," Ice murmured. "Unless it become necessary." And she wouldn't put that outside the realm of possibility.

"As far as what exactly to expect, there is no exactly. The leader of Riverfell is a chaos magic, and he is fight for the side of Chaos, so the only thing we can expect, is the unexpected." Cliche? A bit, but it was true enough. "We recently completed a task for our turn - we do have a back and forth system - so the next event will be whatever the Power representing Chaos opts to make it. Generally, we will get some sort of advance warning from the powers, so I at least know which people to inform depending on the sort of task it is. Not everyone is suited for every task, obviously, and with as many people here as there are, it may be a fair wait before you're summoned for a task."

She paused. "As far as commonly asked questions, Riverfell and DauphinMare exist outside of space and time. Which means right now we're not part of anyone's realm, we're not subject to anyone's laws, and no time is passing where you're from. When this is over, or when you opt to return home, you'll return to the moment from which you were taken, give or take a bit on either side."

Her brows elevated in silent invitation if he had more questions.

"To expect the unexpected. Typical." His head shook before he drew in a piercing to gnaw on. Something he's grown to do when in thought. Or at least when digesting a decent bit of information. "So..it's like a game of Chess. We're just the pawns." He nodded to his own revelation. Not like it was his per-say, seeing has how she basically just said the same thing, just not in the same fashion.

Oryon's eyes would roll at being pulled into someone else's idea of fun but there was really nothing he could do. He'd get over it eventually. Then his mind played back her comment about the sea life. "Despite my given outward appearance, I'm not that malicious. Okay, I can be, but not towards undeserving creatures." Humans were a different story. Though he had sworn himself to never use his powers, save for when protecting someone he cared about; he wasn't immune to the typical jokes that one could do with said abilities.

While his mind was still seething a bit from not being back home, he did ease when she had mentioned that no time in his world would pass. "Give or take? Does that mean, is there a way to alter the time of which we're sent back?" He was probably gearing himself up for some sort of false hope, but it was still a sense to hold onto.

She nodded to the chess analogy; it was one she'd used often enough. "I've long since learned not to judge on appearances," she assured him. Appearances were the most alterable and thus the thing most likely to lie.

Ice hesitated a moment before she answered his question. "There are ways, yes, but there are certain things we're not ... really supposed to do." Not supposed to, but things that were done all the same. "We aren't supposed to send people to other people's realities, and we aren't supposed to create alternate timelines by changing key events. However," Ice splayed her hands slightly. "By virtue of knowledge obtained during their stay here, there are several people who are altering their realities, and at least two people who will be venturing to realities that aren't their own. So obviously, the system is far from ideal."

She watched him for a moment. "If it's something close to the time you were drawn from, then it's possible that something could be arranged, yes. If it's something from years past, then we likely couldn't ... attempt it."

That though of hope only grew as he shot up from his chair as he pretty much rushed to her. Though thankfully he remained from putting his hands on her. This could actually work in his favor for once. Eyes darted back and forth as if he were having a mental conflict with himself to find the right way of bring up his subject at hand. He figured that if it weren't a different reality, then there shouldn't be much of a problem. Because he sure as hell didn't want to go back in time. Okay that was a lie, but not that far.

"It's from my own reality.." His eyes darted to the ground for a brief moment before flaring back to her. "The only thing I wish to alter in my reality is from which came to be before I popped up here." Usual lively eyes darkened with a hue of sorrow as he drew that piercing back between his teeth. A heavy sigh was released as he tried to piece together the rampant thoughts in his head. "Just before I was brought here..my family was slaughtered. My parents, my older brother, and my twin sister. The only one that is possibly..no..the only one that is still alive aside from me, is my older sister."

Oryon wasn't one for crying, but this subject was not only still fresh, but very raw. He could feel the wetness rimming his eyes and he fought his hardest to refrain from letting them fall down his cheeks. "Is..there a way, when this is all over, or when I'm no longer needed, however this whole situation pans out, to go back to before that happened..so maybe I can at least forewarn them and maybe even stop the event?" Although he wasn't quite sure how long they had been dead when he came home, he knew it wasn't any longer than a few hours. He had seen them that morning after all.

Ice tapped one nail lightly against the edge of her desk. She'd watched his movements, but there was no threat in them so she made no move against him when he approached.

"I can't promise you anything," Ice said softly. "But if the Powers themselves won't release you to that point, I can have Laurel attempt a portal to that point in time."

She wondered if it would matter, really, when it was over and done. If whichever side won would be inclined to release people to various points in time to save lives. At least two people here had been pulled instants before their own deaths, at several were planning to change things to prevent their own future deaths.

So why not let him save a family? "It's likely we'll be able to though," she said. She didn't want to instill false hope, but it wasn't a lie. It was likely they'd be able to do something about that.
