She had a fairly good idea of where his thoughts were, but ... she wouldn't mind hearing it all the same.

"They're worth more than a penny, hm?" he said. "I guess I better make it worth your while."
He exhaled sharply, his lips slipping into a grim pout.
"I suppose I have no business being like..." he jerked his thumb in the direction of Town Hall, "...that guy in there and being concerned about you going, huh?" he said. His tone was gruff - he didn't intend on fighting with her, he'd already made peace with the idea of her going over. But he didn't think that meant he had to be happy about it.

So sayeth she who did not know exactly what they could throw at her.
"But for what it's worth, I do appreciate the concern," she said to him as she patted his back lightly.

"It just... worries me," he muttered. "And maybe it shouldn't, but from what I've heard? I don't like the idea of anyone going over there, let alone someone I..."
He couldn't think of a not-awkward way to end that sentence, so he opted to let it hang.

She glanced toward the dorms. "Though speaking of beds ... yours or mine tonight?" Well, she simply assumed. They had been spending time together, with lots of touching, and generally that implied to her that he hadn't hated what had happened the night before.

"I didn't have a preference," he admitted. He'd been preparing to sleep alone, but if she was going to offer him company, who was he to refuse? "Though I suppose if they both look the same, does it really matter?"
He tried to pretend like he could just drop this, but it still bugged him in a vague sort of way that she was putting herself in danger and there was... nothing he could do about it.

Of course, the way she'd latched onto him like that was still a mystery to her, and when she thought too much about it, it bugged her. She didn't trust people. She certainly didn't jump into bed with them. And yet, with Booth, it had just ... happened.
And she didn't regret it.
Squeezing his hand again briefly, she released it to head into the dorms, leading toward the stairs, and presumably her room unless he had other ideas.

Though he supposed he'd see, when and if she tried to.
He followed her into the dorms and in spite of his joke, he figured she would choose her room - he thought most women liked the comfort of being in a space that was theirs. Even if 'hers' was really a place that she'd been in for all of 24 hours - the door still had her name on it after all.

Grinning lightly, she pushed open the door of her room before she stepped inside. Her shoes were slipped off near the door and she glanced to make sure her blades were still on the desk. She hadn't thought it would be a good idea to wear them to the meeting, but it was still nice to see that she had them there.
"So, do we want to do the talking thing?" Corey inquired as she settled down on the edge of her bed. "The bit that's supposed to come before the sex, I mean?" She grinned as she tilted her chin up to gaze at him.

"Which talking thing?" he asked. "The one about my concerns about you going over and potentially putting yourself in danger, or the one where we talk about the sex itself?"
Reply
"And do we need to talk about the sex? I thought it was good." She grinned. "I more meant the talking about ... the us outside of the sex. Are we a fling, should I not be flirting with other guys, should I expect you in my room ... things like that?"

"I don't..." he started to say, then discovered he didn't know where he was going with that, sighed, and leaned against the wall. "I don't want this to just be a fling," he said with a shrug. "If it is, that's... fine." Well, no it wasn't, but there wasn't much he could do about it now. "But I'd rather there be more to it than that."
He paused, frowned, scratched his head a bit, opened his mouth, closed it, and then said, "I don't... care if you flirt with other guys."

She offered him a lopsided grin before she flopped back onto the bed. So, that was good, then. She'd consider them more or less together unless she heard otherwise. "So I guess we should rest up for tomorrow then, right? Big day and all?" She eased her shirt up a little, fingertips playing across the skin of her belly.

"You'd shoot them, or me?" he mused thoughtfully, though he reasoned both if she felt like it. "I can't stop them from flirting with me if they think I'm pretty," he pointed out playfully.
His fingers joined her, ghosting gently over her stomach. He watched them move for a moment before he turned his gaze up to meet hers. "We could sleep," he agreed. "If you're tired. I'd imagine I'm still up for a while," he teased a bit.

Gazing up at him a little impishly, she closed her lips around the tip of his forefinger, sucking lightly on it. "We could sleep," she agreed as she released his hand - though she made no motion toward getting away or preparing to get into the bed properly to sleep.

"Yep," he said softly as a shudder ran down his back. "Definitely think I'll be up for a while. You don't mind, do you? If we hold off on sleep for a bit?"
He moved to slide a hand further over her abdomen, slipping further under her shirt as he grinned at her teasingly.
