From the Express:

"People often pick bad habits up after tragic events; chimps are no different. 'Aiai,' a chimpanzee at the Quinling Zoo in Xi'an, China, took up cigarettes after her first mate died in 1989. After her second mate died in 1997 and one of her children died, and another of her offspring transferred to a different zoo, she began smoking more heavily. Zoo officials announced Wednesday that they hoped they could find another mate for her so she would cut back on the habit."

"A Aberdeen, Scotland, prisoner is suing the Scottish Prison Service because, he said, his prison took too long to treat him after he swallowed a plastic fork, the (London) Express reported. Ewan Hardie said after he swallowed the for two years ago, the medical attention he received was delayed and insufficient. A previous lawsuit he had filed against the service was in regards to the type of orange juice he was being served."
