Supernatural and Wincon

I am finally packed and ready to go. I did all my running around this morning, so I'd have time to watch my download of last night's SPN.

So is it like a rule that hunters all have to drive old vehicles? I mean the Metallicar is the shit, and you can be sure that I yelled and stomped my feet when it made it's glorious return. But also John had an older model pick-up and the hunter they met this ep is driving an El Camino. It just amuses me that Kripke is including his love of cars into the show.

And was this ep something or what? First of all, I hardly recognized Amber Benson. She looks so different with dark hair! Plus, it looks like she's been starving herself because her usual rounded face looked a little gaunt. A little cheekbone action is definitely going on there. And how funny is it that she's playing a vampire? I liked that we're finally getting into some moral gray areas with the show finally. Because no matter how much we wish it to be, the world is not a black and white place. We've seen the gray area when it comes to the good side, since that's the main point of Sam and Dean breaking laws and living on the edge of society to do what they do. But this is the first time that we've seen it from the dark side. I liked the point of the episode. Jensen was really good again this ep, and Jared is still doing much better than last season. He's really turned it up a notch. All in all, I thought it was a good ep, but the humor piece that usually sets off the show for me fell a little flat. Watching the boys deal with the decapitated head, wasn't all that amusing. I really expect better in that area because usually the funny bits make me laugh out loud. When they fall back on Silence of the Lamb jokes, it's just tired.

Now I just have to get through four hours of work, which I'm hoping is getting broken up by other things, and then I'll be on the road headed toward the con! I can't wait to see everyone there!
