Who Finale

Posting from work thanks to my impatience at wanting to watch the ending of Dr. Who, and a neighboring unsecured wireless point.

I just finished watching the Dr. Who finale. I ended up bringing my laptop to work because I didn’t want to wait until I got home to finish what I started watching this morning. (Plus, since I’m going to Pirates this evening I wasn’t sure if I would get to watch it before Monday. Of course, now I’ll have nothing to do Monday and wish that I’d saved it, but whatever.) Let me just say that the shot of the Daleks flying over London to invade was just awesome. The throw down between the Daleks and the Cybermen was pretty cool too. I was thrilled at the reappearance of Mickey last episode so it was good to see Pete and Jake as well. I had a feeling that Jackie would get a happy ending with Pete at the end of the series. After all, they did reintroduce him, and then killed off his Jackie. Plus, despite all the humor that was in “Love and Monsters” it had a lot of focus on Jackie’s loneliness being left by Rose for the Doctor. She had Rose to depend on after Pete died. Rose was her life, and to see her trying to get by without her was kind of sad. I’m glad that Rose got the happy family ending that she really wanted last season in the ep with her parents wedding. It was tough seeing her and the Doctor parted. I think they’re the strongest of the Doctor/Companion pairings ever. I wasn’t as amused that they faked me out about the death thing. “This is the story of how I died.” Um, no this is the story where you get a relatively happy ending and are labeled as dead in your home dimension. I wasn’t a fan of the whiplash ending. I know they have to setup the Christmas Episode, but still. Annoying.

PS- I've also infected my co-worker with the Due South love. Go me.

PPS- I really want misspamela to do that Who follow up story to her Mickey and Jake piece working in all the finale hubub.
