First Truth

[Dlanor is standing by the phone, holding it in her hand almost absentmindedly. After a long pause, she starts to set it down, but brings it back up to her ear. Definitely a dial tone. So the wires haven't been cut. At least, not yet. She holds it away from her, but still close enough so everyone can pick up what she's saying ( Read more... )

[Dlanor looks at the phone, startled. Hesitantly, she puts the phone up to her ear and responds.]

...Yes. That is where I was assigned prior to this game.

[this is definitely a voice she hasn't heard of before]

... What is going on? State your name first.

I am Ushiromiya Ange. I was a piece in the fourth game.

[Just. This face.]

I see. Ushiromiya Battler's younger sister, correct? I wonder if you would be a worthy opponent, as well?

Are you looking down on me? If my idiot brother could defeat some lousy furniture, then I would be more than enough for you.

[Time to drop the bomb.]

To defeat me is no simple task, I assure you. Until he accepted the name of Golden Sorcerer, he was impaled upon my blade.

[She pauses.]

Still, I am glad he won. It gives me another chance to fight against a worthy opponent.

G-Golden Sorcerer?! What are you talking about!? Don't screw with me! He was supposed to have defeated Beatrice and come home already! So why is he still screwing around with furniture and witches and murders and all of this nonsenseeeee!!

That is why Miss Erika refers to you as worthless. Ushiromiya Battler refused to participate once Miss Bernkastel and Miss Lambdadelta took over the game. Once he decided to take it back, it meant allying himself with her. He has taken up the position as Game Master in Miss Beatrice's stead. No longer is he the detective - that position belongs to Miss Erika now.

Y... You've have got to be lying... What was going through his head?! Battler should have just walked away when he had the chance and let those old hags play all they wanted! They've got all eternity to do whatever they'd like!

... Just who is this Erika? They can't just change the rules and throw in another person on the island! There are only supposed to be seventeen people on Rokkenjima!

I assure you, I am speaking the truth. Shall I repeat it in red for you? Furudo Erika is-

[A veeeeery long pause.]

Furudo Erika is-

[Another long pause.]

My name-

[She finally gives up. When she resumes speaking, she sounds ever-so-slightly angry.]

...It seems I cannot use the red. However, know that what I say is true. As for Miss Erika, she was introduced as the 18th person. She, too, is one of Miss Bernkastel's pieces.

I can use the red perfectly. Take note that this place strips you of all abilities you once had before coming here. You can get them back later on.

... Is this girl supposed to be my 'successor' or something? Aaah, it's useless! It's all useless!

Miss Erika is Miss Bernkastel's double and a suitable detective. She is cruel, but she is still young, and she strives to live up to Miss Bernkastel's expectations. She is human and cannot use the red or blue truth, so I speak it in her place.

...And, thank you for the advice.

... It's no problem.

Heh. And here I thought Bernkastel didn't have an ego until now. But if this girl represents the human's side, then this mean Battler is now representing the witch's side?
