[Today, you can find Dlanor in the general store. Ever the hard worker, she's reading over a large folder of notes while she walks, but it's clear she's intent on getting to a certain aisle. Once she gets there, she snaps the folder shut and surveys the types of hard candy before her

[Food, food...this is Splash's first time in a grocery store and she has no idea where to begin. She finds herself wandering down the aisles of prepackaged food, drawn to the candy aisle by the bright packaging. Picking up a box at random, she freezes. Then, spotting Dlanor, who clearly knew what she was doing, Splash decided it couldn't hurt to ask:]

Excuse me...!

[Dlanor looks up.]

[She holds out the box in front of her.]

These can't be...they aren't...

What I mean to say is...these aren't made of real fish, are they?

Ah, but these look so much nicer! How do they taste, exactly?

They are sweet. The flavors are different depending on the type you buy, but that is the thing they have in common.

"Sweet"...like maple syrup, correct? My- [She'll never get used to saying it, but she doesn't know how else to phrase it] -my son enjoys pouring it all over his breakfast. I tried a little myself, and it was rather nice. These look nothing like maple syrup, though.

Yes, maple syrup is sweet. There are a great number of things that can be considered as such. It is the same with the other basic tastes.

No, not yet. Truth be told, I've only been human for a few days now. There's still so much to get used to!
