Fifth Truth

Dying is unpleasant. I don't think I'd like to experience it again.

I hope you are all satisfied with yourselves. Perhaps in the future you will plan your moves a little more carefully.

...I wish to speak with the woman next door.

[ooc: I didn't realize they were neighbors until just now. Because I'm observant like that.]

!sakutaro, everyone is incompetent, we need to talk, !battler, !massimo, buy a strategy guide next time, !lambdadelta, !bernkastel, !eirin, i'm feeling a little preachy, dlanor is pissed

During the fight I received several concussive wounds to the legs, my left shoulder's tendons were severed due to piercing damage from two arrows, my right arm was hit with one arrow, and I was shot at almost point-blank range in the head. However, none of those wounds remain. It is as if nothing ever happened.

...That's... horrible...

But if you say you're alright, then... you're alright.

The damage itself was not a problem. I have endured far worse injuries. The cause of death was a piercing of the brain, not from any of my other wounds.

...Of course, if I were able to contact the Siesta Sisters Corps, there would not have been a fight in the first place. This game board truly is inconvenient.

[[Game board?]]

There's a lot of people talking about this being a game board. How is this a game?

On one side, there is the Game Master. He or she is responsible for collecting all of us here in Mayfield. On the other side, there are the people who have been brought here. The objective of the game is to discover the exit. We are pieces on the board. If my hypothesis is correct, the Game Master has pieces in the form of drones.

It is a fairly standard game. The game board I was in previously was very similar.

So it's just another way of looking at the situation we're in, then? I was starting to think this might be some sadistic science experiment.

And you mentioned being on a gameboard before this. What do you mean?

Previously, I was summoned by Furudo Erika, the piece belonging to Lady Bernkastel, the Witch of Miracles. My objective was to execute the Golden Witch Beatrice by denying her existence. This was achieved by using logic to solve murder mysteries that Miss Beatrice claimed were committed with magic, and prove that there was a human culprit. I arrived during the fifth game, and I will participate in the sixth when I return.

So... this 'Beatrice' person is killing people for her own entertainment?

[A very long pause.]

It's complicated.

[Instead of elaborating, she says:]

...But Miss Beatrice was not responsible. After all, Miss Beatrice does not exist. She was erased at the end of the fifth game.

Then who's responsible? And who's killing whom for what reason?

There are two possibilities that were established at the trial. The first is that Ushiromiya Natsuhi, who despised the family she married into, slaughtered everyone. The second possibility is that Natsuhi's adopted child, which fell off a cliff 19 years before the murders, committed the murders to punish his mother for throwing him away. Neither is the absolute truth, but it can be said for certain that a witch was not responsible.

So it's either someone who has no love, or someone who wanted revenge. Who fell off the clue, then? What's his name?

He is not. That theory is just a possibility. Ushiromiya Battler is an honorable man.
