To be honest, I should have been asleep a good two hours ago, but I couldn't pull myself away as long as you were responding. I only have to be awake in five hours. Who really needs sleep? (And at that point, my eyes screamed that they do, which was really quite useless on their part as I've been ignoring their screaming for some time now-- did they think that now would be any different? :p)
I can also be very shy and quiet. I think that, as I've gotten older, I've actually become more that way. But that is what is really wonderful about friends: the walls just come crashing down. :) I'm very glad for you that you have friends there, especially this one that you worked with, who you feel so comfortable with. :)
Wow. That police stand-off really must have been intense, but I have to admit that the way you described you and your friends standing perfectly still like statues made me giggle. I couldn't help it. I'm relieved that no one was injured and that you and your friends came out of it safely. But really, you must have made fabulous statues, dressed up the way you were. :D
I am not dressing as anything for Halloween, unfortunately. I am just too busy and a little too broke to be able to afford that this year. I don't mind, though. Tonight I got to sing pumpkin carols-- yes, pumpkin carols!-- with a group of my friends. It was really adorable. They were all Christmas carols adapted with lyrics for Halloween. There was definitely some dancing involved, as well (extremely silly dancing though it may have been. :p) That really made up for it, for me. :D
I'm sure that you must have guessed who I am by now, but I would still like to know who you think I am. Have at it. :)
Heh, I'm sorry to have kept you up so late then. :) Feel free to get some sleep after your next reply.
Actually, I think I've gotten quieter as I've gotten older too. I talked to strangers far more frequently when I started college than I do now ... now it's the people who approach me first that I usually end up friends with. :)
We did make fabulous statues! And the police helicoptors with their searchlights going across the parking lot made a wonderful spotlight on each of us at various times. It was rather beautiful.
Pumpkin carols sounds like an awful lot of fun. :) Was it at your Church, or somewhere else?
I think you're Rumplestiltskin, or a fishmonger. But if neither of those, I would have to guess the wind enchantress.
If I was going to be kept up, this is a much better way to be than some others I could imagine, such as simply laying in bed unable to sleep and becoming rather bored with the ceiling. :D It was wonderful to be kept awake by you.
I think that, as far as becoming quieter, it was simply a matter that when I was younger I felt obligated to be outgoing. Now I've excepted that I like myself the way that I am. I don't need to be talkative always because those who are going to be drawn to me for who I really am are going to be whether I am always talking or not.
The pumpkin carols were here at school. :) This one was my favorite:
Jacky the Pumpkin (to the melody of Frosty the Snowman)
Jacky the Pumpkin Was a merry happy soul With a long brown stem and an orange face and two eyes cut out like holes.
Jacky the Pumpkin was as bright as he could be and the children knew he could light their way as they trick-or-treat all day.
They came upon a wicked witch as they went around the town. And as she laughed and screeched at them, they began to run around.
Jacky the Pumpkin was filled with pain and fear cause he knew one day he would rot away and would be back again next year.
Jacky the Pumpkin began to rot away, but he waved good-bye saying "Don't you cry. I'll be back next Halloween day."
It's wonderfully silly, isn't it? :)
And now the wind enchantress really must sleep because, as much as she feels time spent here typing back and forth to you trumps sleep, she is certain her professors will disagree if she falls asleep in class. :D
Please feel free to email me anytime, Alley. It's still green.eyed.girl@gmail.com. I'm really happy that we're talking again. :) Have a wonderful night and I hope to hear from you again soon. :)
That is a wonderful carol. =D I love it. Very creative. Thanks for sharing it with me. :)
Good night and sleep well. :) I'll be busy with tests and midterms until Thursday evening, so maybe we can talk on AIM on Friday if you're comfortable with it. For now, I agree ... it's nice just catching up.
