Took Daven and his girlfriend to LouieG's in Fife yesterday. Was seriously not impressed. Seriously.
From the too-bored-to-do-her-job surly waitress who had to be asked for straws and for forks to eat with after the food arrived to the complete lack of alfredo on my chicken alfredo to the 2 seperate tables of clinically obese people eating from the all-you-can-eat bar the experience was very underwhelming.
Daven ordered meat raviolis - he recieved about 7 raviolis topped with what he described as Ragu with pizza sausage thrown in. The raviolis had the broken edge look of large bag freezer raviolis from Costco.
Girlfriend ordered a Stromboli with chicken. At least 65% bread by volume, she didn't say anything about the flavor - but she also picked at it and took the bulk of it home.
My "Chicken alfredo with fettucini" was a huge bowl of slightly over cooked fettucinni that was barely coated in a butter gravy then sprinkled with chicken chunks and parmesan. The dominate flavor was the starch water flavor of badly cooked pasta. When I trasferred the bulk of it to a take home container I saw that the bottom of the plate was as sauce free as the top had been. Alfredo is suppose to be a rich creamy sauce.
Today when I went to reheat my leftovers I was assaulted by the overwhelming odor or chicken bullion cubes. Reheated in the microwave - the mess was just unedible. The other half (it really was a huge amount of pasta) reheated on the stove top with sour cream and new parmesan cheese also went into the garbage as the signature flavor of the bullion just got stronger as it warmed up.
I could have forgiven the restaurant expience as a bad day - and maybe tried them a second time for pizza - but the leftovers were beyond acceptable.
The possitive, hmmmmmm, we received a military discount.
