I intended to post these after the party (which was two weeks ago)!  I thought it would be nice for people to see how we freakin' swanked up the place:

This was the main food set-up: four bottles of wine (with different kinds of wine glasses for red and white), three kinds of cheese (Dubliner, Emmantaler, and Brie) on a cheese platter (a Christmas gift from a faculty member on my floor--never though i'd use it but there you go), some pate (not ultimately a big hit), and water crackers.  The plate and napkins were chosen from their happy, Spring colours.  The tealights are floating in dollar-store glasses, two of which Jeremy added red food dye to.

Those super-spiffy trays are actually dollar store finds.  You can't see that well, but we have arrangements of shots and Pocky on each plate (five in all).  We paired Pocky flavours to shot flavours.  Here you can see the Chocolate Pocky Men's with Creme de Cacao and Frangelico (we also had strawberry Pocky with "Arbour Mist", and white mouse Pocky with straight Frangelico.  (The flowers in the pictures are from a corner store--I love how all the corner stores sell flowers in this area!)  The pretty pedestal table (one of two) we just bought on sale at Bombay Company.

This demi-lune table was another on-sale purchase from Bombay company. It was originally supposed to act as a coffee table for the couch (behind the couch instead of in front of it, because we're CRAZY!), but it fit so well into this weird little bumpout that has otherwise been completely throwing off our decorating efforts that we decided to keep it there.  You can see the stereo on the side, which was playing dominantly the new "TV on the Radio" album all night.

This was the "Piece de Resistance!"  Jeremy calls it "Sputnik:" it consists of half a cabbage wrapped in foil and on the end of the kabob sticks is smoked salmon, cream cheese, and artichoke hearts (the salmon kept falling apart on Jeremy, which caused him to very verbally express his frustration).  They were absolutely fantastic!

My friends Bill and Diana having a lively conversation.  Shortly after this, Bill's chair broke, surprisingly not from drunkeness.

Here is Jeremy sitting quietly and behaving.  At the end of the couch by the pillow you can see Curdles the cat--a sympathy gift from Jeremy's Mom when she found out our landlord does not allow pets.  He is very fake, but still cute.

Thanks to everyone who came!
