Something today that broke me....
Today I saw something that absolutely broke my heart from the inside out.
I was standing at my counter today and this guy in his army bdq's was walking through the airport. He was waiting for his luggage and then I heard this shriek that startled me. He turned around and dropped his bag and ran into the arms of this girl. For the next 10 minutes I watched two people hug each other tightly, cry, and not say a single word. The love in that moment and longing hurt me so much because I would kill to have someone care about me like that.
At one point I thought I was in love but the more I've grown, and looked back, I didn't really know what love is. When love is right it just works. When love is right, you don't have to say it, the actions just speak it. Watching those two people today, I longed for it, not the superficial love, but the real thing. The love where someone just can't wait to see you, where 3 days feels like a year in Iraq. I can only hope that I could get lucky enough to love and be loved like that.
