Review the Supernatural Episode Reviews!
So I had this idea, but actually it may turn out to be not needed. If I'd had it a few weeks ago, might have been another story. But I went ahead with it for this week. If anyone gets something out of it, I'll do it again. :)
Review the Reviews:
Here's the idea. I'm reading episode reviews and commenting on which ones are safe particularly for Sam fans who are bruised by the levels of Sam bashing out there. Now, and this is important, "Safe" doesn't necessarily mean I agree with the reviewer, or that you will, or that the review says only happy positive things, but I'll try and give you some idea of the tone. In 25 words or less.
Criteria:
My criteria for these reviews of the reviews is purely arbitrary and subject to change at my whim.
What I'm looking for in a review:
Is it Sam-Safe? Is there Sam bashing? (Even Soulless Sam deserves not to be bashed!)
Is it Dean-Safe? Dean bashing isn't good either because Sam wouldn't like it. And RoboSam shoots if he doesn't like you!
I'm not specifically looking for Castiel-Safe but really, undue character bashing of any kind earns the review a
Grumpy Ghostie rating. I guess the Campbells are excepted from the no bashing, since they are the season's scapegoats and a lot of reviews would get the Ghostie...
Sam & Dean Safe - the review has met all criteria. Go forth.
Other ratings:
Scaredy Cat rating - given when the review does not meet Safe criteria and could cause arching of the back and excessive hissing and spitting.
Gravely Marked rating - Do not go here. Trust me, I only want what's best for you.
Nessie Sighted rating - I didn't know what to make of this, you're on your on recognizance. Take your Peril-Sensitive Sunglasses.

Shortish episode review/reaction post with larger screencaps at the end. Sam safe, Dean safe for this time. Castiel... she likes Misha but counts it as a plus that Cas's appearance was brief and Sam-friendly. Sums up at the bottom with pluses and minuses. Generally positive review of the ep.

6.07 ‘Family matters’ Review by adrenalineshots
No actual Sam bashing but some of her Sam characterizations irritated me a little. She's very much into Dean & Castiel's relationship. Not a negative per se but there are plenty of reviews of this ep that don't edge towards being mildly condescending about Sam's issues. My take, YMMV. Not certified Sam safe entirely, but not a trainwreck.

No Sam or Dean bashing per se. Maybe I need an icon for show bashing. Seriously, nothing to dodge here as far as negativity to Sam, but I just found the tone irritating. Not my favorite reviewer in general though. Ignore me if you love her stuff.

Episode recap.review with screencaps. Okay, there was a little much yelling at Dean in caps for last weeks beat down, which carried over to the first scene or so of this week's episode. However if you can skate past that (or if you agree with it) the rest is okay. Nice commentary at the end about storytelling structure.
Okay, that's it for now!
Let me know if this is still a worthwile idea. I think maybe I'd have had more to do if I'd started last week, with all the gleeful comments floating around about Sammy's beat down. However if we're over a series hump, I'm not going to complain.
