Character Information
General
Canon Source: Kingdom Hearts (Re:Coded)
Canon Format: Video Game
Character's Name: Data Riku (Jiminy's Journal)
Character's Age: technically about two years old, since that was when the journal was created, but he has the body and mind of the fifteen years old he is based on.
What form will your character's NV take? His NV will be a
palmtop that looks like
Jiminy's Journal on the outside.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Data Riku shares quite a few abilities with the real Riku. For one he is able to summon a digital copy of Soul Eater, the weapon Riku used until it transformed into a Keyblade sometimes during KH II; for another he is able to use some of his spells and abilities such as Dark Firaga, Dark Aura and Dark Shield. Should his file ever be corrupted by any virus or bug, his appearance shifts to Dark Mode. While in Dark Mode he is also able to summon bug blox.
As a being of the datascape, Data Riku is able to identify backdoors to the System Core and enter them in order to clear away bugs. He is also able to partition his own data in order to keep it from being corrupted or deleted and while in the datascape (or any other comparable network) he can lock down data to keep anyone from accessing it.
He was the one who imported Mickey and Co. by opening a link into the datascape and even though he says himself that he originally could only do it because the bugs weakened the barrier between the datascape and the real world, it seems to have become a permanent ability, considering that he was able to open the link again even after the journal was cleared of bugs.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? With mod-permission, I would like for the Pull to boost that last power, so that Data Riku accidentally ends up exporting himself out of the datascape and into the real world upon arrival at Sirens Pull. If possible, over time he'd gain control over it and be able to transfer himself back and forth.

Character Personality: Made of the memories the journal recorded of the real Riku, Data Riku shares lots of character traits with him. Quiet and confident, his role is mostly one of support and guidance, though he is quick to step into action when he sees a friend in peril. He has the same teasing humor, though it lacks any trace of the competitive edge that Riku shows in the first game.
Something that absolutely differs him from the real Riku is his humility; he seems to lack any of the pride that the real Riku displays in various ways. He is very quick to seek the fault within himself and only all too ready to apologize, even if he isn't really to blame at all. He does often enough for even Sora to call him out on it. Though he is quick to react with self blame and guilt, unlike his real counter part, he isn't driven forward by those issues - first and foremost he is motivated by curiosity and the wish to help. Once he decides to help somebody, he will absolutely follow up on that, even if he can't help directly and has to involve others for that task.
Data Riku is absolutely aware of being only data, just memories actually, and therefore not really important in the grand scheme of things. To him, having a body or a heart - the essentials of being a 'real' person - don't really matter, just like his existence; what matters is to be useful and able to help people, even if only indirectly by discovering and solving the mystery behind the message that was left in the journal. If his existence becomes a hindrance to this task and he knows he can do good by sacrificing himself, he is more than willing to do so. However, despite his disregard for his own well being, he is ultimately content with his existence as being of the datascape and has no aspirations to ever visit the real world.
But even though Data Riku is aware of only consisting of a copy of memories, when placed under stress, he sometimes seems to suffer slight identity crises and channel the real Riku as result; commenting for example how he is always attracted to the darkness after being corrupted by bugs thanks to Maleficent and Pete.
It is a little bit unclear, if data beings have hearts, though it's implied that at least Data Sora developed one over the course of his journey through the datascape and due that became strong enough to call for a true Keyblade. The same possibilty exists most likly for Data Riku as well, if given enough time and character development. Regardless of heart or no heart to feel true emotion, he acts rather empathetic; he is more than willing to listen to a person's troubles and doubts and then give advice and/or reassurement to the best of his ability.
As the incarnate of the Journal he is primarily tasked with the protection of information, though after being placed in a new environment, he will also try to gather and record what new information he can find, since this is the original purpose behind the Journal. Of those duties, the protection of the data has absolute priority to him, since that is what he has been chosen for. His duties are another part of his motivation as the true purpose of gathering, processing and protecting information is for it to be use for others.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: -
Character Plans: Data Riku will need some time to get used to having a body and living outside the datascape as well as sorting out identity issues and perhaps establishing his own identity apart from Riku and the Riku Replica. Once he has somewhat accustomed (and probably also before that), he will try his best to do his duties of gathering and protecting information and of course aiding the rest of the Light-KH cast.

[Text - visible to all, hard to trace]
Siren's Port, was it? A strange world with Darkness unlike any I recall and powers that shouldn't be; or at least so it appears.
Whatever the truth... fact remains, I am not supposed to exist in this world.
SERO Corporation was more interested in gathering information than giving it out. As a result, I am still rather unsure about how I came to be here. I would be grateful, if the people of this network could change that.
I'm sorry, if that causes you any circumstances.
[Text - heavily encrypted to Sora and Riku]
Did you recieve the king's message?
[Video - heavily encrypted to King Mickey]
[Finally he changes the settings, letting the feed jump on, showing him hooded, before he reaches up and shows his face, almost void of emotion if it wasn't for those flickers of worry and confusion visible in his eyes.]
Your Majesty. It appears we have a problem.

It was weird, being in the real world.
The world of beings that truly are, where memories are made and not just recorded, where they aren't easily changed, deleted or reset. Where Hearts and Light and Darkness are part of reality, something to live with and not just concepts he technically understands, but only remembers... not ever truly experienced himself.
Then again, there is not much sense of thinking about what he experienced for himself and what was simply memories from the journal, because most of it was simply Riku and Sora; he hadn't been even aware of being nothing but a memory, actually an assortment of memories after that the journal's data was transfered into him, until after the journal had been digitalized and he had received his task, a task he had thought to be over.
Riku couldn't help but feel a little lost now that he had been 'pulled' out of the datascape; what was his purpose here, what was his task now? The mystery behind the message had been solved, the journal restored and King Mickey had without a doubt made certain to contact the real Sora and Riku and informed them of those, who were still hurting.
But then again... there were people here too, right? There was Darkness in this world, stronger and even more drenched with malice than he can recall from Riku's memories.
This world was hurting. And in that case he would be damned, if he couldn't do at least something to help.
He didn't even notice the small smile flickering over his lips. All he could think was that perhaps... the real world wasn't as different or weird as he had thought.
After all... there were always more hurts that needed to be undone.
