[the datapad clicks on and Jack is sitting in the small apartment by himself. He's bored as hell and has been trying to get involved in something that would keep his mind off things. However, he's not used to having to ask people to tag along. He's a leader, not a follower, yet being dropped in this place as he is, he feels as if he's nothing more than a follower and he hates it.

Hello... brother.

[the image of a man appearing to be slightly smaller than Jack flickers into view and Jack finds himself staring at his brother.]

No. Not you. Anyone but you.

Anyone but me? And here I thought you were going to be happy to see me. You've always said you've been searching for me.

I was searching for you. I stopped because you found me and fucking destroyed my team. So I put you into cold storage where you belong. How the hell did you get out?

Isn't the better question how you wound up here, Jack?

I don't care.

Of course you do. Little lost Captain. All alone in the world. Now you know how I felt.

I'm not alone.

Fine. You have the little butler to keep you company. But you have no team. No purpose. No nothing. You're empty, Jack. An empty shell.

Fuck you.

An empty shell of a man. Serves you right for what you did to me.

I paid my debt in kind. Now LEAVE!

Sorry, Jackie-boy. It's not that easy.

[at some point during the conversation, Jack has stood and the two men are squaring off against each other like two caged animals]

It is that easy. I paid my debt to you. I spent two thousand years buried alive beneath Cardiff. I paid my fucking debts.

It's still not that easy. What about the debts for Owen and for Tosh? You killed them, Jack-o. Just like you would have killed Ianto if you had stayed around. What about Michael? Or Greg? What about everyone you ever led into battle and never returned with. What about me?

I said --

You did NOTHING!

[Jack closes his eyes, knowing the truth. He shakes his head, sinking down onto the small sofa.]

You are nothing.

[Jack's voice is cold as he speaks, but it's enough to break the spell for now. Jack closes his eyes, feeling the sweat breaking out across his brow as the image of his brother fades once more into his memory. All he's left with is his parting words]

No, my dear brother. You are nothing.

[The feed abruptly cuts out as Jack throws his datapad across the room.]

[OOC: yes, it's a short and sweet thing. but commentary is always welcome. ♥]
