...Whoops.

[The boy stands in his room, eying the wall in front of him which currently bears the mark of a brief spark of frustration. There's a telltale fist mark in the otherwise blank surface ( Read more... )

Well, that looked interesting.

[Aw great, another one. He is really...getting annoyed with this technology thing. It's like it has a mind of it's own sometimes.]

Er... Yeah. Guess you could call it that.

What was that? Some sort of regeneration tech? Or is it that Force thing I've heard a lot about?

Alchemy, actually. Although from what I've heard, the things we can do from back home get reintegrated into...Force-terms.

So does that mean my augments... [That bit is mumbled, there]

Alchemy, huh? I remember hearing about that. Where I come from, it was the beginning of all science, turning lead into gold and stuff.

[He arches a brow at that.]

...ah, well yeah, that seems to be what most people relate it to when they hear the word.

But, for you, it's different, right? I saw what you did with that wall.

[A pause] Can you do that lead to gold stuff?

Not entirely. Alchemy's still a science. The execution is probably the main thing that's different between my world and whatever everyone else is familiar with.

...it's possible, but it's also kind of illegal.

I can bet. Economies crashing, stuff like that.

I wasn't much one for science, or history or anything like that, but I know what a bunch of unregulated tender entering the system would do.

[Jorge, despite his appearance, is a pretty smart guy, after all.]

[Edward smirks a bit in spite of himself.]

Exactly. Our country has enough problems without having to worry about that as it is.

...but that's neither now nor here, I guess. Anyway, the elements and minerals here aren't quite the same as what I'm familiar with. Wouldn't be able to transmute any gold if I wanted to.

Another person who's come from a load of trouble back home. I was starting to think I was the only one.

I'd envy anyone that came from somewhere that wasn't, and feel sorry that they had to be brought to this mess.

So you been here long?

Just a few days, that's all.

This place is a bit less... explode-y than where I'm from.

Huh. That's not long at all, then. Although it could seem like it, I guess.

You get pulled out of a warfront or something?

My life is a warfront.

I have to be grateful. I suppose I'd be dead by now if I wasn't here.

[He clears his throat, forgetting something.]

I'm Cheif Warr... [A pause] Jorge. Call me Jorge.

Well, guess at least you're set for whatever comes up here.

...oh yeah? I've heard about that. I also hear that people don't die around here... [Which doesn't sit right with him.]

[He blinks. Right, introductions.]

Jorge, got it. Name's Edward Elric.
