Let's see, the draft was the hot button topic for a while, which I believe you were around for. And then for a while people seemed to be being compelled to do strange things such as sing or kiss people they wouldn't normally be inclined to kiss.

And then a few days ago they had Life Day, which is like their version of Christmas from what I understand.
