[It's been well over a week, so it seemed quite clear that Nathan Petrelli, the Outworlder Senator, was not going to be among those coming back.
But never discount the possiblity of a Life Day miracle, boys and girls B|

Holy crap.
It's been weeks now, but he's back. He's really back, and he's here and he's talking and he looks terrible, but he's alive and he's here, and she's currently in a state of total shock.]
Dad?

She looks skeptical that he even remembers his time here, so she starts that lovely process of building up emotional walls so he doesn't hurt her further.]
You don't remember being here before?

Coruscant. You have to remember being here before.
[There's a pause, and she reaches up to rub at her eyes before she has a chance to leak all over the place.]
Being here with me before?

Star Wars. [It's not a question, just a tentative statement, as if saying it might make it more or less true] Revan. But that--
None of this was real.

[But at least he's remembering, so that's a good sign. Isn't it? ]
I thought you weren't going to come back. Do you know where you're at right now? I'll come find you.

[He resists the urge to say something he would probably immediately regret doing over this] Yeah, can you just... come find me?

[And then there's a click, and indeedily doodily, she's there in ten minutes, out of breath and charging in the room. And she promptly finds her way over to him and acts like she's going to hug him, but then deters her course of action and hits him repeatedly on the arm instead.]
You left! You can't just leave me alone here! You and Peter both let Sylar kill you, and I had to sit and wait for neither of you to come back after a week! Do you have any idea what that's like?

But here, he was her only parent - unless you were counting Peter too - and back home, that's not the case. She has her dad there, her mom, Meredith, her brother, Peter, a whole slew of replacements.
Just how much good was he doing as a dad figure there anyways?
He'd been ready to change all that. Turn it around and try to be something she could really be proud of, but now it was too late for all that.
But maybe not here.
He's about to speak, when something else catches his attention, and he gently grabs her wrist]
What do you mean, 'you and Peter'?

I walked into your office and found your dead body. [She snatches her wrist out of his hold, and clutches it close to her own chest instead.]
Peter knew it was Sylar that did it, so he went after him. At least I wasn't ever able to find his body.
[And now there are a lot of angry and butthurt tears, and she doesn't make any attempts to wipe them away.]
You took a long time to come back, Dad. [Okay, now that she needs emotional support, she'll hug him.] What happened?

Peter ;___; ]
... A lot happened. I... woke up back home. I thought this was all just -- [He shakes his head] All the memories were muddled up and I thought it was a miracle I'd survived. I wrote all this off as just a crazy dream.
It's been... almost a year since then. [Wait, a long time to come back...] Are you telling me Peter never came back either?

You just came back, Peter might too. And even if he doesn't, you're here now. We can go back home, right?

And a ... job. Oops.] Uh, sure, of course we can. We can go there right now if you want. [Something else sinks in, and he fixes her with a furrowed brow] Where have you been staying?

I didn't think they'd let me stay in your apartment since you weren't here to be a senator anymore. Do you think the rest of our stuff is still there?
