[ There's a shirtless teenager on your screen who looks remarkably like that kid from the Taylor Swift video, er... well... There's an upside-down shirtless teenager on your screen, looking at the datapad like it has somehow hideously offended him just by existing and having far too many knobs than what one would reasonably expect. At first, his

Charles? [ He's moving towards the door, having much rather see Charles in person and have solid proof he's okay ] Where are you?
Reply
[Suiting action to word, Charles is already on his feet, his datapad moving along with him.]
Reply
Looks like... B-3? Does that work?
[ He glances to the screen. Sees it moving. Sees Charles moving. On his own. Sans wheelchair. His eyes go a little wide, voice muting a bit. ]
Professor... You're walking.
Reply
Yes, B-3 works. [He says as reassuringly as possible, though he wants to frown as the team is further fractured across the dormitory.]
Excuse me I'm wha? [Charles glances curiously at the data feed, though he keeps moving, even taking a couple of those quick jog steps he's know for when he's feeling particularly restless.]
Well yes, I'm afraid I haven't master how to drive any of these scooters or other vehicles you see zipping around.
Reply
You're walking. [ Like somehow repeating that is supposed to make it clearer ]
Where's your... [ some hand gestures that look vaguely like pushing wheels ] chair?
Reply
Alex, honestly what has gotten into ... just, hold on I'm almost there. We can talk in person, it will be easier.
]ooc: Shall we action this hideous family reunion, bb?]
Reply
Yeah. Okay. See you soon. [ And he'll cut the feed himself to keep from asking more questions. ]
[[ooc; Yes please bb! X3 /wibbley eyes~]]

At least Alex knows him, not some older, wiser and yet still foolhardy version of himself.
Charles is at a light jog as he comes down the hall, voice already calling out.]
Alex?!
Reply
The voice rings out from the hallway and there's an urgency in his step when he goes to the door, leaning out into the hallway at first, and then stepping the whole way out (because he is so not cool with standing right under the freakish opening and closing creepy door). ]
Here.
[ He sees it - Charles walking all on his own as if nothing the couple days before had ever happened. His expression might closely mirror a goldfish - eyes wide, mouth hanging a little open. ]

Nudging a scampering droid out the way with his foot, he reaches to take Alex's shoulders and guide him back into his room.]
Thank God, come on. Step back inside, we can talk more privately. Are you all right, Alex? I mean, despite the obvious disorientation, you're not hurt are you?
[Might still be thinking of Scott's arrival and panic.]
Reply
I'm fine. Fine. [ Said quickly, dismissively, and as the door zips back closed he wheels around, brow furrowed in confusion as he stares down at Charles' feet. ]
You're paralyzed. [ Matter-of-factly. With a point to the feet. Well, you should be paralyzed. Obviously you're not right now. What are you doing not paralyzed? ]
Reply
I'm... ah, no, I most assuredly am not.
[Charles glanced down at his legs and even shifted his feet a little as if assuring himself they were still attached.]
Reply
But you're supposed to be. Remember? Bullet in the back? Had to life-flight you back to the US?
[ It was kind of hard to miss. Was it the government? Did they do something to him? ]

[Fighting on the sand in Cuba, his head ringing and the sound of gun shots. Charles feels his stomach sink and he looks at Alex, face going pale.]
The last thing I remember, was fighting on the beach with Erik. He'd punched me, hard and gotten up to finish sending the missiles at the fleet ... what happened next, Alex?
Reply
Moira tried to shoot at him. Erik. He deflected the bullets and one hit you in the [ass] back. [ He swallows dryly, getting uncomfortable with reliving this. He'd been trying not to think about Erik and what he did since the couple days they'd been back. ] Then him, Raven, Angel and Shaw's guys left.
You kept saying you couldn't feel your legs.
