[ Buffy starts the broadcast just before she gets home from
this. She's on a familiar street just outside the scooby apartment when the video turns on. She looks pissed. More pissed than she's ever been. ]
The Crimson Terror's still alive and well on this planet. Those warehouses, they weren't their only base. [

It's Angel. He's working with them. Has been for -- God, I wish I knew. [ There's a harsh, embittered laugh at that. ] Whatever they did to him, whatever Wolfram & Hart pulled ... They won. He's gone.
[ She rubs a hand over her face, trying to fight down the obvious hysteric fury that's building in her and causing tremors to run under her skin. ]
Andrew. The weapons chest in my room -- can you? [ She spares him a glance. ] Something sharp.

Angel? [ A few I-told-you-so's and neener-neener's wouldn't be well placed. ] I thought he was all of a sudden even a partial good guy. Or of the good guys. Wolfram and Hart. Lawyers got to him? In space? Crafty --
Wait, are you going -- Angel sent them after you?

... Who's Angel? And ... who's Wolfram and Hart?
[these are very important questions that Sam does not yet have the answers to.]

You should have said something sooner.

It's taking everything he has not to just walk out of the room right now, but he stays where he is and keeps quiet because, hey, bigger issue here. Even so, it should be pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain that he's not happy about hearing this, and that a lot of that not happy is currently directed at his girlfriend]

I -- I don't know. [ She reaches up to rub the side of her neck, glancing around. ] Maybe dig up what you can on the Crimson Terror. We need to take the offensive this time, before more people get hurt.
More than anything, you guys need to stay safe. Angel working with them means you're all at risk. You remember what happened last time. Let's not risk a repeat.
We need to assume he's already got Drusilla, too. But, he's still got his soul. The truth is ... we don't know what he's gonna do. [ She looks exhausted and a little scared by that notion. He's off the rails in a way that could very well be worse than Angelus. She shakes her head. ]
Andrew. [ She huffs out the name impatiently. Weaponsssss where are they. She's glancing in his direction now. ]

Buffy saying his name a second time got him to shake himself out of his stupor. Right. Important things. He was doing them.] Uh. On it.
[Being in something of a rush mostly means 'GRAB THE FIRST THING THAT LOOKS COOL' and run. As it turns out... Buffy has a lightsaber, so naturally Andrew would grab that and come out with it, posing dramatically and... Speaking in his horrible fake British accent.]
You have my... [He hits the button and a red blade springs to life.] ....Not as pink as I would've guessed lightsaber.
[Give him a second. It'll come to him why a red lightsaber is relevant.]

But there's no helping him when he doesn't want to be helped. At least Buffy sees that now.
And really, keeping quiet isn't her strong point, so it makes sense when she finally jumps in with:]
He may have his soul, but he stopped using it long before he got here.
[She blinks a little, noticing Andrew's red saber.]
Isn't that the evil guys have?

As the guy here who knows him best--
[He pauses as he notices the lightsaber in Andrew's hand. His thought process starts at "When did Buffy get a lightsaber?" goes through "Here I thought she wanted pink" and ends on... "That looks bloody familiar."
He reaches out his hand and with a twitch, he sends the lightsaber careening out of Andrew's hands and into Spike's. ...and yes, he uses the force to make sure he doesn't slash anything in half.]
This is mine. Thought it was destroyed, when I... [He turns to look at Buffy, more confused than anything else, then glances over at Cordelia.]
The colour itself's not evil. I like it.

Here's the deal:
Angel's supposed to be this big champion of good. And he was, for a long time. I worked for him in Los Angeles. But lately? Not so much with the hero-ing. Can't get himself to care much about it one way or another anymore. It's too hard to care, because life just isn't fair, you know? [Her voice is bitter, because the way everything went down, how Angel shut them out and then fired them, it's still a sore subject. One she's mostly avoided here except for a few talks with Buffy.Wolfram and Hart is partly to blame for this. They're an evil law firm. And before you make some stupid joke about all lawyers being evil, they're the real deal. And they've been trying to bend Angel to their side from day one. They've had a lot of dumb plots for it, and a few smart ones, but this was their best one. Or worst, depending ( ... )
