Ok crew, look's like we're pulling outta here in a couple days, cartin' Jedi to Mon Cal, so if any of you have some last minute business or booty calls to attend to, (lookin' at you, Sammy), get 'em over with fast.  Got a couple of noobs on board, but Bobby can take Sam Flynn's old quarters, Castiel's taking Jo's room, and Sulu can have Okita's.  [

[Oh good, he didn't mention where she's moving to. That's good. She waits until she's sure he's long done with his message before going to find him. After the past few days, she's looking pissed at the world and stressed, but she tries to manage a smile for him.]

You sure you're ready for this?

[likedillinger]

[The smile's enough to fool him, ok. He's sitting with his feet up on the main console right now, since Sulu isn't around to yell at him at the minute]

I'm always ready for anything.

[incaution]

[She swats at his feet down and moves to sit on the edge of his seat.]

You know what I mean. Are you gonna be able to handle Buffy and her pet vampire or are you secretly planning to do something you shouldn't be?

[He reluctantly drops them to the floor]

I'm not doin' anything that doesn't need to be done. [lol not ... reassuring...]

[incaution]

[she's quiet for a few moments, staring at the ground.]

I don't know what to do, Dean. About all this with Buffy. She just expect us to change how we see things and how we feel, and we're the monsters if we don't.

Just because she's self righteous about something doesn't make her right about it. She's just got a big mouth and a stubborn streak. [sounds familiar...] She hasn't dealt with the same shit we have.

[She thinks that over, nodding. Then she turns in the chair so she's almost sitting in his lap, and is able to face him.]

Guess it's not that big a deal. Everyone I need is here on the ship, so it's no big loss if things go south. [Which is a lie, but she fakes another smile.]

Is there anything you need me to do before we head out?

[Aw, it warms his heart that she shares his stupid nomadic no-strings-attached lifestyle, ok. Even if she lying. He is too dumb to notice. He just looks over at her a second before hoisting her over onto his lap completely, with a slight smirk]

I could probably think of something. You know, this ship's gonna get awful crowded soon... [Yeah Buffy's right, he really is crotchdog, ok. YOU GAVE HIM AN OPENING. Just bat him on the nose with a newspaper, Jo]

[Oh my God, Dean. All she can do is laugh and shake her head. She doesn't protest against being hoisted onto his lap, though.]

I'm gonna choose to be flattered by how often you wanna go at it. [She leans in to kiss him, but then...oh, nope, she doesn't. She just is gonna tease him.]

But you're just gonna have to wait, since you know I meant actual work.

[He just grins. It was worth a shot.]

Suppose we've gotta restock the bar before we take off.

[incaution]

I was gonna do that anyway. Like I'd let either of us go anyplace without something decent to drink. [Laughing, she taps her finger against the tip of his nose.]

I'll get right on that, just as soon as I finish moving my crap - or lack of it, anyway - into your room. [She pauses, correcting herself.] Our room.

[He can't resist] Just how much crap have you got to move? Don't think you're gonna fill my room up with chick stuff. I see one unicorn and so help me...

[incaution]

[Yeah, that earns a punch right to the arm, Dean. She doesn't even try to make it gentle, even if she is laughing right along with him.]

Yeah, I'll put the unicorns and teddy bears right next to your cowboys and toy cars.

[Pause.]

You'd probably actually have some of those if we weren't in space, wouldn't you.

[Have another punch, this one much more light and entirely playful.]

Don't worry too much, I don't have hardly anything left after I turned into a monster and destroyed it all.

[He recoils just a bit, but he's laughing and it's obvious he doesn't care about getting smacked]

Just checkin'.

[His laughter quiets a bit when she brings up the monster episode. He doesn't find much funny about that whole point in their lives] You need to pick up anything? We've got funds left over.

[She notices the change in his laughter, and her hands go to rest on his chest, instead of hitting him anymore. At his words, she stops and stares up at him, entirely impressed by his ability to be a really good boyfriend in times like this. She's so impressed that she doesn't respond at first and just leans in to kiss him. When she pulls away, she rests her forehead against his, smiling.]

I already told you I've got everything I need here, didn't I? I can pick up more clothes any old time, and everything else I had was just junk anyway. I don't need a whole lot to be happy.

[That brings his smile back at least, and his eyes flick across her features for a second warmly. Though he adds teasingly:] ... Well, you at least got that bikini, right?
