Alright, then we'll start at the top. A bad guy named Darth Revan's found some way to yank people across space, time, and dimensions to bring us here to this galaxy to help him win a war.

[sounding a little crazy? yup.] I'm listening.

He doesn't expect all of us to stand up and sign on for his military, but he doesn't need us all to, to help his cause. Enough people are suspicious of us, because they know he brought us here, and he dumped us in the heart of his enemy's territory and set up shop for us to live. The Republic's so busy half the time keeping one eye on us that they can hardly pay attention to what he's doing out there.

Diversion tactic, how typical. Only problem is it works, and takes too much time to undo. Though it can be done. Over time.
