[and this would be Sam. The color drains from his face, and then he's swearing a blue streak grabbing the data pad and taking off for the door. He doesn't know WHAT to think at this point, but regardless of the hows and whys, he's going for the Enterprise to find his brother.

Either that thing has torn the ship apart and screw it, he is NOT losing his brother again, temporarily or otherwise, or ... the monster is Jo, but he is not letting that be an option right now.
