Popping the First Heatsink

[There is a surprising lack of fumbling of buttons, with this new entry-- the Video turns on cleanly, and a non-human face studies the feed cautiously.]

Riiiiight. [Bare talons rub at the bone on the side of his jaw tiredly; he looks slightly exasperated, no doubt at the lack of armor in unfamiliar surroundings. At least his tattoos had come ( Read more... )

Heh. Ex. Don't supposed Turians are familiar to you either?

Is that your planet, your squadron, your race, or your weapon name? Because it means a whole lot of nothing to me, no.

Race. [Sad day.] No squadron; I'm part of Shepard's crew. Planet apparently doesn't exist according to your data archives; and I assume my weapon is getting a bit lonely for me back home.

I don't think I've met 'Shepard' yet, but I'm gonna assume they're one of us.

So let me welcome you to our merry band of intergalactic cast-offs. I'm Lois.

Yes, I think so. You'll know her when you meet her. [There's a quiet pride to his words, and an amusement he can't quite hide.]

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm Garrus Vakarian-- are you involved with the military yourself, by chance?

Back home, I'm a General's daughter. Here, however, I'm more a thorn in their proverbial side.

[He blinks in surprise, then laughs.] I see. Maybe they could use a few thorns to get them focused. [A pause.] Ah, that's probably not fair. I'm only just beginning to understand how everything seems to work, over here.

They mean well... mostly. But they get pretty strung up in the bureaucratic mess, and well... a lot falls by the wayside that doesn't deserve the ditch treatment.

[Garrus shakes his head slowly, frowning.] Sounds like some things never change, no matter what universe you're in.

Ain't that the truth.

It's not that I don't appreciate the fact that they're fighting a war. It's the opposite. I think they're ignoring the fact that Revan brought us here on purpose, and that we might be able to use that against him somehow.

If there was only a way to separate bureaucracy from -- well. What should be done.

Has there been any direct contact with this Revan? Or any strategy built at all to confront him? [Or any Spectres sent after him yet :|||]

So far no. As far as I know, he's keeping his presence masked to the Jedi around here.

He did come to the planet himself though for a duel with Senator Yusanis, but he left immediately.

He dueled a senator? [Garrus sounds vaguely amused.]

...I'm not sure what the Hell he wants from us, especially if he won't address us directly. [What was the point? There had to be some strategic reason for burning the power required to pull this off, but what? What did he hope to accomplish?] How long have you been here, Ms Lane?

He wasn't exactly your run of the mill Senator.

Longer than almost anyone else still running around here. Except Lily, I think. It's been quite about half a year or more.
