This morning, my mother asked me to consider going to a high school other than Seishun. I'm assuming this is what my parents intend to speak with me about this evening; if so, then they're simply waiting for the results of my entrance exams. I'm not sure what to tell them, if I passed Azabu's exam.

family, school

I did take the exam, and your math department is certainly good enough. I'm just not certain I'm willing to leave Seigaku.

Ah. It's understandable. you can't say I didn't try though.

Other than Kirihara-kun, will your team be continuing together?

As far as I know, we will. That's not to say that it couldn't change because we'll be freshmen again, but I'm sure that between Seiichi, Genichirou, and myself we'll probably be taking over as soon as possible.

I have no doubt you will. It would be interesting, joining you three.

Do you still play doubles on a regular basis?

I tend to insist on doubles unless it's thought I'd be better placed in singles. I'm very versatile in that regard.

I doubt in that regard, alone, Renji.

We should play together sometime. I wonder if our style is incompatible now, or if we'd still work well as a pair.

We did pretty well at the selection camp. It would be interesting to play as a pair again, just for old time's sake. Perhaps we could find some people interested later on Saturday?

I'd enjoy that. Was there anyone in particular you'd like to try playing against?

None in particular...though I wouldn't mind going up against the doubles pairs you sent at us during the Kanto tournament, just out of curiousity - especially the second years.

Momoshiro and Kaidoh? I can ask them - Ooishi and Eiji too, if you really want, though it's less likely they'd be free.

What do you think of them, the second years, as a doubles pair?

Ah, yes. I couldn't remember the one's name, obviously I know Kaidoh-kun. They would be interesting.

As to what I think of them as a doubles pair - I think if they would learn to set their little rivalry aside before they enter they court they could play a good game. Though that rivalry also makes them extra aware of the other's weaknesses - definitely a good thing to know so you can cover for those weaknesses or setting up for the other's strength.

Anything involving the two of them is interesting. Also, amusing, but I doubt Tezuka would appreciate hearing that.

If they weren't such strong singles players, I'd like to see them play together more often. If there was any benefit to losing half of our only real doubles pair during the season, it was the opportunity for both of them to try doubles on a regular basis. They both did much better than I would have expected, though I wouldn't recommend an Echizen-Momoshiro pair ever again.

I'm sure it is.

...Echizen can play doubles?

... Perhaps it was generous of me to call it doubles. They did nearly as much damage to each other as they did their opponents.
