So, it’s lunchtime again. I’m sitting here in the cube shortly after getting out of the weekly staff meeting. I made my presentation to the ESB2 SV team on my internship and where I plan to go from here.

It went well, I must say.

At the end of the presentation, my manager directed me to go back to my comment about contributing to a team effort. He made a huge deal of my part in the project and said that the team is going to feel the loss when I leave. He even went so far as to say that it was my work over the past two weekends that kept the entire project on track. It’s really amazing that I’ve been able to do so much… and I’m very thankful for the opportunity to do so.

Anyway, so I’m on a bit of a high from that. I walked out of the conference room and spoke to the manager of the project that I want to work on this December through next August, and he told me that he’s sure he’ll be able to find somewhere for me - definitely not as adjunct as this summer.

To explain this: the position that I fill now, although important in its own way, doesn’t really get any “slice of the pie” in regards to real silicon. As lead of execution, I work on pushing to completion the overwhelming majority of the validation test content for this project. The problem with this is that I get no intimate experience with any one interface-PCI-E, SATA, etc., etc.

So, since I’ll be here for 9 months instead of 3 for a co-op, it’ll be much more possible to get an interface (or at least part), and even more so if I start to arrange it now.

Okay, anyway, moving on. I sold my Yahoo! stock this morning. Lost not too much money. I ended up not liking the underlying roadmaps and financials of the company. So, yea. Time for some reallocation of market investments! Woo! Fidelity Contrafund is still doing well, as well as Apple… all in all: it looks A-O-K.

I’m almost done. Rush is ranting in the background, which is nice. Gotta get down the talking points! I miss Margaret, as always. 3-15-28-45-92-121-849.
