[ History ] :

[Adapted, cleaned up and expanded this one.]

199X-2030

- The world's environment starts to worsen as a punishment from God. Plant life starts to deteriorate and the sun's rays start to become harmful. Over a period of time, the petrification disease starts.

- Madame Margot Cuvier becomes the first to discover the disease and dubs it the 'Cuvier Syndrome'. She emits a warning to others.

- The younger sister of the college student Heat dies from the Cuvier Syndrome.

- The world environmental protection organization scholar, Jenna Angel discovers the sicknesses roots lie in the sun's rays. She and David continue further research into the Cuvier syndrome. The Cuvier Syndrome starts to occur more frequently. Rumours fly out about the infection and terrorism begins to occur.

- David becomes infected with the disease. He stays in an isolation ward at the hospital, only for it to be attacked by the terrorists. He dies in the arms of Angel. Afterwards, part of David's information flows into Junkyard into the body of Gale.

- The world environmental protection organization puts Madame Margot in control of re-organizing the Karma Society. Jenna Angel joins the Karma Society soon after.

- The Karma Society starts the 'God Project' as an attempt to communicate with God and stop the changes to this world.

- The HAARP facility, short for High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program becomes the Karma Society's first experimental center. It uses the giant radio telescope to transmit data to the sun. The system needs a human's consciousness to direct the information flow to the core.

- The construction of the EGG is completed. Sera is born shortly after from Jenna's egg and sperm (Jenna is a hermaphrodite).

- Karma Society transfers to the EGG for the center of experimentation.

- Young scholars, Serph (majored in Psychology at Davenport college) and Heat(studied to become a gene therapy doctor at Berkeley college) from the University of Yale, an Ivy league school attend the experiments. The nurse Argilla accompanies Heat and Serph. She seemed to grow affectionate towards Serph.

- As the experiment continues, 18 children have died already, including Cielo, a young, cheerful boy from south America. Sera, number 19, is the only remaining child and was able to communicate with the sun from age 2.

The year 2018-20

- As Sera becomes depressed and lonely from the experiments, she constructs an imaginary space in the data stream. She creates artificial models of Serph, Heat, Argilla and Cielo, reflecting in them her understanding of them.

- Sera's imaginary world is discovered. Colonel Beck, head of the military plans to expand this space for an Urban Warfare training AI. Serph takes notice of his plan.

- Stage 1 - Asura project, Junkyard is created. The AI do not know of emotions and only understand warfare. Before the deletion of her own imaginary space, Sera conceals the data of AI Serph, Heat, Argilla, and Cielo in Junkyard.

- Serph and Heat have disputes over the experimentation. Argilla shoots Heat. Serph reveals himself to be a magnificent bastard, only interested in becoming God.

- Sera sees the incident which causes her consciousness to go out of control. The turbulent flow of information causes an earthquake; there's a solar blackening, the sunlight institute as well as everything else turns into a petrified desert.

- Serph becomes a demon destroying numerous people. (Argilla & Beck are killed by Varna.) Someone(unknown) becomes Meganada and makes a scene with Varna. Meganada is imprisoned in ice. Serph/Varna is later killed because of his actions.

- Many of the Karma society faculty died with the exception of Madame Margot and Jenna Angel.

- After the solar blackening, the population has reduced. Nations collapse(the USA no longer exist). Soldiers are put into Junkyard.

- The project Junkyard is sealed and put aside for 5 years.

The year 2025:

- Five years have gone by and the inhabitants of Junkyard continuously go in circles: wars, death, the regeneration Samsara. Six tribes are formed.

- Observations over Varna and Meganada have shown Madame Margot and Angel that humanity may still have a chance. The demons are able to soak in the sun's ray without catching the sickness.

- The Karma Society influences the ability of demon transform. Those who object to it are to live underground(a city is formed). The Karma Society soldiers hunt for humans in the Underground City.

- An Anti-Karma Society(Lokapala) is formed. It's first leader, Greg, dies on the battlefield. His information flows into the Junkyard and becomes Lupa. Roland takes over as the next leader for Lokapala.

- Angel secretly seals the demon virus in the Junkyard data. She wants to obtain the strongest devil.

- To save AI Serph and the others, Sera forces herself into Junkyard. Her consequence leads to losing her memory.

Events of DDS1 take place

- Battle at Ground Zero between Embryon and the Vanguards. A plant pod emitting a strange light causes the two tribes to change into demons. Embryon devours most of the Vanguard soldiers. A mysterious girl is discovered in the pod afterwards. Serph's emotions awaken.

- Serph, Heat and Argilla confront Harley, leader of the Vanguards. They come to realize they are the ones that ate the majority of Harley's tribe. Eventually Harley gives into the 'eat or be eaten' and attacks them. He is defeated easily. Heat and Argilla's emotions have awakened.

- The mysterious girl is known as Sera. She has no memories of events before she arrived at Junkyard, only that she came to help everyone. Her song holds a strange power; the ability to call down demons that have gone mad from hunger. She manages to calm down an out of control Gale before he can kill Cielo.

- A meeting with all tribe leaders is held at the Karma Temple. Angel tells the tribe leaders that whoever destroys all the other tribes and brings her the girl will be allowed into Nirvana.

- Embryon and the Maribel tribe join forces to defeat the Solids. Jinana's second in command Bat betrays her however, and the Maribel are defeated by the Solids. Jinana, who had refused to devour anyone up to that point, loses her sense and attacks Serph, Heat and Argilla. She is defeated and dies, but not before sharing a touching moment with Argilla and regaining her emotions.

- Sera is kidnapped by Mick and Bat and taken to Coordinate 136. Cielo was allowed to live to give them this information. He then awakens to his emotions, wanting to help out and repay Sera, but is told to stay put.

- Mick holds Sera captive at a mysterious castle. Bat betrays him, and Mick is beaten by Serph, Argilla, Heat and Gale. Sera is dropped from the tower and caught by Cielo, who disobeyed orders and showed up anyway.

- Sera and Heat leave for the new hideout. Serph, Gale, Cielo, and Argilla(disguised as Sera) use the abandoned ship as a bomb-trap for Bat. He dies in the explosion, while Cielo carries Serph, Gale and Argilla out.

- Everyone arrives at the new hideout. A meeting with the Wolves tribe is arranged at Svadhisthana. Lupa helps you out and recalls things known as dreams, parents, and children; things that don't exist in the Junkyard.

- Lupa dies in the Svadhisthana sewers. He asks Gale to tell his child to be a man of honour. Gale finally awakes to his emotions.

- Arrival at Sera's house in Ajna. You learn the truth about the Junkyard and Nirvana from Beck before he dies.

- Sera fades away to Sahasrara and regains her memory.

- Serph and the others venture to Sahasrara to stop Sera from leaving the Junkyard. Pieces of the Junkyard begin to get deleted.

- Angel appears to bring back Sera to the real world. Sera requests that the Junkyard not be destroyed. Serph and the others arrive before Sera leaves. The final battle begins.

- Angel is defeated and blocks the attacks of Serph (as Varna) with a green object (power to delete). The object breaks, causing the remains of Junkyard to be destroyed. Everyone hurries to the gate from which Angel came to escape.

- Before everyone makes it to the gate, everything around them explodes and they all float in a white atmosphere.

- Sera is passed out at the EGG laboratory.

- With Junkyard finally gone, five AIs: Serph, Heat, Argilla, Gale, and Cielo arrive in the real world.

Events of DDS2 take place

- Serph, Argilla, and Gale meet with Fred and his friend. The Karma Association hunts for humans in the underground city.

- Roland and Adil are introduced as the Anti-Karma Society, Lokapala. Serph, Argilla, and Gale learn the truth behind Junkyard from Roland's presentation. Cielo is also being kept hostage by the Lokapala.

[ Personality ] :

Youngest of the main Embryon tribe, Cielo is the cheerful clown of the tribe. He’s always there to cheer someone up or joke around to help ease a rough situation. He’s the type to which the glass is always half-full and then some and tries to look on the good side of things as much as possible. His atma awakened as a result of his desire to protect Sera and even now, he still tries to keep Sera as happy as he can, cheering her up whenever she is down and telling her not to cry. Because he is the youngest, he also has a tendency to speak his mind without thinking it through, which has earned him a punch on the head from Argilla on at least one occasion. (He said no-one would every fall for her dressing up as Sera because her arms were way too thick. He’s… not the most amazing guy with girls, clearly)

Cielo cares deeply for all his comrades, treating them like family. Ever since awakening to his emotions, he has tended towards calling them all bro and sis, joking around with them as if they were the world’s weirdest, but happiest demon family. He’s arguably closest to Gale, and if you’d think that a relation between a line-facing, strategy-minded, quiet guy and a way too cheerful, jamming, Latin rhythms clown could only end in fighting, well, you are wrong. It is true, they argue sometimes, but deep down inside, Gale is kind of like Cielo’s older brother. In the end, Cielo is willing (and will) die for any one of them if it would keep them safe.

Cielo is not all laughter and games however. He is still a kid that has lived in the Junkyard and has seen some of the worst of (artificial) humanity. Underneath his fooling around, he has an iron will, and while it is hard to anger him, once you have, it is better to just run. He might not be the physically strongest kid around, but he will take you down if he thinks that is needed. Generally, the easiest way to upset Cielo is to threaten his comrades, or even just hurt your own comrades. Betraying someone's trust, no matter how misplaced it may have been or for what ever reason, is just not something he is down with.

Occasionally, Cielo is capable of amazingly deep insight into situations (especially for a kid like him). He understands about having to do bad things for a good cause, though there is obviously a line for him. He is a believer of living and bearing your karma and rebirth. He’s also fairly good at reading people and their emotions, especially if you consider he has only got emotions for such a short time.

As it is, Cielo’s memory is a mess of things he experienced in the real world and his experiences in the Junkjard, and often they overlap. There are things that he knows, and yet does not understand how he knows them. (Like cats and music and dancing). All these things are a reason for pausing, but never for stopping. Cielo is the type that will strive ahead, no matter what, wise-cracking and making other people feel as cheerful as he does.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

Like all members of Embryon, Cielo awakened to a demon form through his atma. His is Dyaus, oldest of the Vedic gods and the sky father. As Dyaus, Cielo finds his strength in electric attacks, and is weak to status effects sob. So weak Dyaus is also specialized in speed and luck, with magic coming up third. All in all, this means that as Dyaus, Cielo will torment your ass with magic attacks, cheerfully dodge so many of your attacks, and… not really pack much of a punch. That said, Dyaus is still stronger than any human could ever dream to be, and he can fly. He can even carry up to three people on his back, flying long distance with them, though that will exhaust him.

Being a demon is not all fun and games however. To maintain a sense of self and not succumb to the extreme hunger, Cielo needs to eat. What does he eat, you ask? Well… his opponents. It’s definitely not his favourite part of being a demon and Cielo refuses to eat more than he needs to. That said, he fully accepts that he needs to eat others and he does not try to avoid doing it. After all, he was once on the receiving end of an out of control Gale and he knows fully well that not eating will leave him open to insanity and insanity leaves him open to possibly eating his comrades and that is just not done. Ever.

Introduced in DDS II, Cielo also has a half-demon form. This comes from being in the real world, with its high levels of solar noise. In this half-demon form, Cielo’s features are a mix between his own and Dyaus. This particular form is good for one thing and one thing only: fighting. His attack and speed are boosted tremendously, as well as his critical rate; however there are two big, big draw-backs: in this form he is incapable of using magic attacks and as a half-demon his defence is terrible and it is rather easy to take him out. That is, if he hasn’t descended on you first, ripping you to shreds.

Even without his demon form, Cielo is a good soldier. He prefers using a sub-machine gun, has some hand to hand skills, and is pretty flexible and quick on his feet.

Cielo is not, and admits he is not, the smartest kid around. But at least he got this emotion thing down, ja?

[ Other Important Facts ] :

Cielo possesses them jamming Latin rhythms and he talk like dis, ja bro?

[ Sample ] :

The sky was blue.

Never before had Cielo seen a sky that was the same colour of his eyes and hair. This-- This could not be the Junkyard. No, he remembered now. He remembered climbing to the top of that tower with his comrades. He remembered the fight with that woman, Sera’s scream and then light.

So, this was not the Junkyard. But where was he?

Was it-

“Is dis Nirvana?” Cielo’s voice practically vibrated with wonder as he twisted and turned, trying to see more of this place. He didn’t seem to care that he was slightly wet, or had gained another mark. No, the very thought of being in Nirvana was enough to thrill him to no end. No longer would he be in the Junkyard. No longer would they have to fight for their lives. Now, his comrades and--

Where were his comrades?

They were not here but-- No, Cielo would find them. They were comrades, after all. There was no need to worry. Cielo could just stroll around, not get constantly attacked and find them. It shouldn’t be too hard! Heat was as loud as he was grumpy. And maybe, ja, maybe he could hear Sera’s laughter. Or Gale being obnoxious again like always. Argilla would be there too, maybe teasing Heat, maybe laughing with Sera. Serph would be a bit harder to find, ‘cause brudda was always so quiet, but he’d do it! He would.

Nirvana.

“Ja, dis place be good, right?” he asked, to no one in particular and set off. It was all right, right? They had deserved their heaven, after all.

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] :

I’ve come to eat your wimmins and mens. :|

Okay, the cannibalism thing. Yes, he needs to eat people to stay sane, but considering he won't be fighting much here, the restorative powers of the coral and the fact that his powers will be weakened because of the barrier, I don't think it would happen too often. Though, losing control of his emotions and getting cornered by one of our many resident trolls will probably send him into a nomming mood. :/
