Much Ado

I never know how to start these things. But there has been a lot going on in the past few weeks, maybe even month, that I wanted to make everyone aware of. I'm not sure if this will affect any of you, but it might, so I'm going to make sure you know.

My first order of business is to clear up any wonderings about whether I am returning to school this semester, and the answer to that is "no." After much deliberation and weighing of options, I have decided that it is in my interest, and my family's interest to make headway towards getting to where we need to be, which right now is Houston, Texas. Financially it is becoming difficult to stay here, and coupled with work issues, I don't think that trying to go to school and getting us moved is going to work all that well. I will return to school shortly to finish my work. Right now my heart is leading me elsewhere.

That being said, here's the bigger news. Cindy and I will be moving to Houston, Texas on September 1. We had thought for a long time it would be December, but having discovered our rent is going up a ridiculous amount, and coupled by the fact that we have no permanent ties to the state right now other than relatives, we have decided to make the move.

Right now, I think we're both a little excited, and a little scared because we now have about six weeks to make this work right. After penciling all of it down, I don't think we're going to have a very big problem making the move; it's just going to take a little more help than the two of us. I'll probably be asking you guys for some favors (mostly taking furniture off our hands if you need it-there is a washer/dryer in the mix possibly, if you're interested)

I'll let you guys know as more details present themselves. Right now we have to go secure our apartment, as that will be our first order of business. I'm not too worried about the situation on a whole, just thinking that it's the first time something like this has snuck up on me.

There's more to talk about, but I'll save that for later.

Thanks again for everything guys. We've had a good run here in good ol' Lafayette, right?
