a post from mE holy shit!

its always my intent to hop on a leave a note or something about what's going on but i always seem to fall short of following through. here's and update on what's been happening. again, its only stuff about writing. i can't feel guilty though, i can't think of anything I've enjoyed more than say picking up a basketball or skateboard in my ten years.

I'm 200+ pages into the last captain Taylor book. after that, i'm not sure what else could be told in that little universe. who knows? maybe I'll come back to them later. i can't wait to finish them because i want to continue the editing process and get them to print if there's a chance they'll sell. if they sell one copy apiece i'll consider it a profound achievement. in my compy where i keep the save files there's another folder marked

BOOKS WAITING TO BE WRITTEN

in that folder there's four word documents with only the title pages made. they're entitled

*THE CITY
*PICKING THE DEVILS FLOWERS
*SARAH OF THE BARRICADES
*FUSION HEART
*GRATUITOUS VAMPIRE NOVEL

The City is part fantasy, part social commentary about america and its sensationalism. when i ran the story past my writing teacher at the university and others they all said the same thing: "i've never heard of anything like that before" so that's good. Picking the Devils flowers is a tragedy about a group of orphans and child slaves who are forced to search for landmines for their meals. Sarah of the Barricades is about a young girl in a blade runner type future with a mother addicted to virtual reality and a father who's a riot cop. Fusion Heart is actually a prequel about Captain Taylor's earlier years as a hovercraft racer, but i'm still trying to iron out details. and as for the Gratuitous Vampire Novel, well, twilight has ruined peoples appetites for more vamp novels right now, but i think it'll be worth putting out in about ten years when the interest peaks again. no pretty boys and girls here. it'll be splatterpunk and grit all the way. i think this comes from too much Poppy Z Brite and Kaitlin R Keirnan novels. i know it sounds like i have a one track mind, but writing has become a major part of my life.

This is what i do, this is who i am.

love to all,
a.
