For some reason there has been a MASSIVE explosion in furry based social networking sites. While I have LONG since said a good social network site for the fandom was badly need for years; due to the fact I feel FurAffinity and SoFurry are not what I’d consider to be true social networking sites. Now I'm sure you've heard of these two furry sites. Both would fall under the Yiff/Social Network sites. While Furfling is a paid site it doesn't offer any way of finding a mate, or match. They do have Gold and Silver memberships which if you get Gold you can talk to free users. They also prevent you from mentioning any other Social Network by blocking a sequence of letter with "***" this is annoying as hell, but understandable. Because the site doesn't offer anyway of finding a match and most furs are to far away for normal people to meet them I find the site mostly a waste of time. Furs on there because of the distance and the loneliness of being in remote communities seek out this site to have some form of comfort. Now Pounced is a 100% free site, though more tame than Furfling it still has some major issues. It just got a makeover that better helps find near-by furs by clicking on the map icon that allows you to see ads of furs all over the country or world. The only downside to this is the site's popularity is low. It has a five digits members count but only a small proportion is always online. That's mostly in the double digits. This site has been around for many years now but still isn't appreciated enough or well known to become more then what it is. Well, I hope this helps some furs find something in their lives.
