(The Gospel of Buddha and The Dhamapada)
After much thought and reading the two scriptures that are from Hinduism that are listed up above, I have come to believe that Buddha's view of Suffering is so complex but yet so simple. According to Buddha, suffering is ignorance, desire and attachment. With these mere things suffering comes into being, if we modified our life so that they weren't in them, then we would be on the path of enlightment.
According to Buddha the way to do that are four mere steps, of the Exsistance of Sorrow
- 1) The Exsistance of suffering - We first need to realize that we are suffering.
- 2) The cause of suffering - We need to observe our emotions and figure out why we are suffering.
- 3) Cessation of Sorrow - Once we realize what is causing our suffering, we let go!
- 4) Practice - We cultivate our path to enlightment!
With these four steps then suffering can finally be exstingished!
An example of this is something I wrote below a long time ago about a bad relationship.
I miss you.
You seem so distant and far away,
but yet your right down the street of this corner.
Something is telling me that something is amidst and at bay,
That something dearly is wrong.
But what?
These emotions are smothering me,
They are ripping me apart and I can not breath.
I'm wishing that you'll just let me be,
Other wise things aren't ever going to be the same.
My insides are internally bleeding,
I want my heart to to stop it's beating.
The hurt inside is crushing me,
I'm thinking of a plan that will set me free.
I can choke on water and air,
But wouldn't choking on my own blood satisfy you.
You can take away my cloths and let me die bare,
But would that be good enough to humor you?
I can't tread on water or sand,
But honey I miss you so dearly so.
You know I am here for you and your demands,
So don't leave me alone forever again.
My insides are internally bleeding,
I want my heart to to stop it's beating.
The hurt inside is crushing me,
I'm thinking of a plan that will set me free.
