And don't drag my best friend, tv, into it

The first time I started to write a new post was to deal with ALL THE FEELINGS the Warehouse 13 finale brought on. As I tend to do, I ended up using comments on other people's journals to deal with those, so no post on Warehouse 13.

(IT WAS PERFECT AND HEARTBREAKING IN THE BEST POSSIBLE WAY AND ALL MY CREYS FOREVER. ALSO APPLES *SOBS*)

Then I decided that I needed a new show to watch even though this year I'm watching more than ever (and yet I still have nothing for Wednesdays). My shortlist had Raising Hope (short, light, Martha Plimpton!), Criminal Minds (long, not much thinking required, and they ended up bringing back the cool female characters people with good taste liked), The Walking Dead (all the cool kids are doing it) and Nikita (mindless entertainment and I saw a very angsty gif) so I was going to ask for recs.

Again, that didn't happen. I ended up watching Criminal Minds mostly because links for the first 6 seasons appeared on my flist (which I took that as a signal from TPTB) and it's been in the short list for a while now. I'm finishing the second season and I have a couple of thoughts:

- I'm pretty sure this show is going to disappoint me in the same way NCIS did. It will make me care about the characters and then give me each season the same amount of character moments/development I get in three episodes of shows like The Good Wife. I clearly do not learn from past mistakes.
- I really dig the quotes thing they do at the beginning and the end. I also think having the plane to open and close most cases is brilliant. They always have an excuse to show emotional consequences after the case and to have them all together.
- I've lost the number of times I've told out loud to the victim of the week that no, if it's dark, and someone wants to kill you, running towards the very empty forest is Not A Good Idea. Geez.
- I swoon a little when Hotch smiles. There's something about his voice and his seriousness that do things to me in my pants.
- JJ is ridiculously pretty. Much more so when her hair is not a hot mess.
- I really like that even though Gideon and Hotch are the lead in the cases, JJ is the one who decides where to go. It balances things a bit.
- I never warmed up to Elle. I think looking like Drusila's long lost sister had something to do with it.
- I love Matthew Gray Gubbler's face in general, but specially his cheekbones. Also, I haven't seen how he is in RL, but the body language for the character is perfect.
- I adore the banter between García and Morgan, but what I like the most about it is the fact that it is completely platonic. I like what it does for her character, the fact that she's not the tech girl with all the stereotypes that brings but someone sassy as hell that gives as good as she takes. So I really disliked the scene in the bar where she's basically ogling Morgan in a very fannish way while he dances. Penélope García is better than that goddammit.
- My fic!whore sense tells me that 90% of the fic in this fandom is going to be any combination of Morgan/Hotch/Reid, so that will be disappointing.

Lately, I'm a bit in love with Anna Torv's face and what she does with it. I believe Tumblr's to blame, but it's not as if it's something new or I weren't easy as hell.

Anyhow, I had a third reason to post which was the following meme robbed from samej_eh:

Comment saying "Sternocleidomastoid" and I will tell you the following:

1. Something random about you.
2. Which color you remind me of.
3. My first memory of you.
4. What random character I associate with you.
5. My favorite thing about you.
6. What fandom I associate with you.
7. Challenge you to post this on your journal.

This has been in my head the whole damn week.
