Silence is golden

It took me a while, but I figured out today that someone is giving me the silent treatment. I was previously worried that they were in a hospital or something somewhere.

It's been a few years since someone gave me the silent treatment without me knowing why. Last time it sucked; I moved on; it turned out the reason for the silent treatment had been faulty but by the time that was discovered it was too late. I think the damage that resulted hurt them, and out of that pain they decided to start maliciously affecting my life. Hence now I'm sensitive to the issue.

Here's the part where I'm a hypocrite. I give people the silent treatment all the time. When someone hurts me or someone I care about, frequently I shut them out and ignore them forever. So I understand why people do it. But I also think that everyone I give the silent treatment to knows why. (if not, go ahead and email me and I’ll tell you why)

I think that's a significant difference.

On an unrelated and positive note, I'm getting over the ear infection from last week. It is such a relief. Once it became acute it made it damn hard to sleep. The pain alone was starting to spread to surrounding areas as a reaction to the acute pain. It was even causing a loss of motion in my neck and jaw. So lame for such a small amount of tissue. My ear had swollen shut and my hearing dropped down to near deaf. I'm so glad I can hear again. (What?)
